Did you know that palm veins were unique enough to use as a 安全 手段 on a smart lock? I didn’t, but TCL did, and I’m happy they 人物／姿／数字d it out. The TCL D1 プロの／賛成の smart lock’s headlining feature is using your palm to 打ち明ける it, which is fascinating―and I liked it a lot more than I 推定する／予想するd to.

The Palm Vein 正確 Surprised Me
I’m used to using a 指紋 or a PIN to 打ち明ける my 前線 door―I’ve used those methods for years. But palm vein? I had no idea that palm veins were as unique as they are.
I 始める，決める up the palm vein 打ち明ける and planned to turn it off after some 実験（する）ing, because how 正確な and 安全な・保証する could it really be? It turns out that it’s pretty 安全な・保証する. I’ve not even been able to 偽の it with my opposite 手渡す. My wife and I can’t get it to trip out when only one of our 手渡すs is programmed.
The palm vein 打ち明ける is also 極端に reliable. I didn’t 推定する／予想する to like the feature much, if at all―but it’s become my favorite part of the lock. Every time I walk up to the door, I just 始める，決める my 手渡す in 前線 of it and about half a second later it’s 説 “打ち明けるd” and I can enter my house. No pin 入ること／参加（者）, I don’t have to worry about 乾燥した，日照りのing my 手渡す off if it’s wet, and it’s 極端に reliable.
You 現実に don’t have to have your 手渡す on the lock for this 機能（する）／行事 to work, either. The palm 打ち明けるing 機能（する）／行事 作品 with your 手渡す a few インチs away from the lock, which is even more intriguing.
I Wish the App Was Better
TCL is てこ入れ／借入資本ing the Smart Life app for its D1 プロの／賛成の smart lock. I get it, the Tuya 壇・綱領・公約 is tempting to use for brands as they don’t have to build their own app. However, it does have some drawbacks.
This smart lock is 両立できる with both Alexa and Assistant, but not HomeKit. A surprising 発覚 was that it doesn’t work with Home Assistant either, which I fully 推定する／予想するd it to when I 設立する out it worked with the Smart Life app.
The app is also pretty unintuitive. I’m a techie person, and I’ve done everything from building my own apps and websites to running a small server farm in my office but this app threw me for a 宙返り飛行 more than once.
I’m used to the Smart Life app for my smart plugs and switches, but the way the app 扱うs smart locks is very different. The settings are cumbersome to 接近, and the functionality of the lock can be hidden in 無作為の places.
For instance, I was trying to 人物／姿／数字 out where the 自動車-lock 延期する was. I couldn’t find it―until I clicked the bell icon that said “始める，決める.” I guess this stands for settings? But why not use a cog or wrench as an icon? It’s things like this that make the app unintuitive.
That’s also not all the settings. You 始める，決める up members and 一時的な passwords in another area. Do you want to hook it up to your Alexa or Assistant ecosystem? It’s not under 始める，決める, it’s under the pencil icon in the 最高の，を越す 権利.
全体にわたる, this app needs a 十分な 精密検査する to be more 使用者-friendly.
Six Ways to 打ち明ける―But No Geolocation Is a 苦痛
The TCL D1 プロの／賛成の smart lock features six total ways to 打ち明ける―palm vein, app 支配（する）／統制する, 発言する／表明する 支配（する）／統制する, 重要な fob, PIN, and a physical 重要な. However, one thing that it’s sorely 行方不明の is geolocation functionality.
While you can get this 機能（する）／行事 through something like Alexa or Assistant, I prefer to use it through a native app whenever I can. With my Yale/August smart lock, I always used the 在庫／株 app for geolocation 打ち明けるing (and locking) and it worked 広大な／多数の／重要な.
However, the app is sadly 行方不明の any geolocation functionality, and it doesn’t seem like that’s going to be 追加するd in anytime soon, sadly. On the 有望な 味方する, the NFC fobs are kinda fun to play with and are a 広大な／多数の／重要な way to 株 接近 to your home without giving someone a PIN or physical 重要な.
Once the Lock Is 始める，決める Up, It’s Reliable
While I do wish the app was better, and I want to use geolocation to 打ち明ける this smart lock, I really have to say that once it’s 始める，決める up, it’s ultra-reliable.
I’ve used several smart locks, and reliability is something that I’ve fought in the past. いつかs it would take a few times to get a PIN code to 認める on one of my locks, and another one just wouldn’t reliably 押し進める the deadbolt into the strike plate.
The TCL D1 プロの／賛成の wasn’t 疫病／悩ますd by this at all. It worked reliably every time. The PIN code worked when I needed it, but I rarely used that because the palm vein 打ち明けるing was just so convenient.
Something I wasn’t 推定する／予想するing was just how strong the モーター on this lock would be. The two other smart locks I’ve had on this 前線 door would いつかs struggle to pull the door all the way の近くにd with the deadbolt, but the TCL D1 プロの／賛成の didn’t struggle one bit.
全体にわたる, this lock is 極端に reliable and worked 広大な／多数の／重要な every 選び出す／独身 time I used it.
Should You Buy the TCL D1 プロの／賛成の Palm Vein Smart Lock?
I wish the TCL D1 プロの／賛成の smart lock was a bit more affordable. At $170, there are a lot of 選択s out there for smart locks. When on sale, it 申し込む／申し出s much better value, though.
If you don’t mind not having HomeKit or Home Assistant 統合，差別撤廃, and you can get by without the geolocation 機能（する）／行事 that I sorely 行方不明になる on this smart lock, then I do think it’s a solid 購入（する）.
The palm vein functionality is both fun and 機能の. When I 交換（する） this lock out for another one, that’s a feature I’m going to 行方不明になる for sure. 全体にわたる, if you need a smart lock that’s reliable, has a lot of ways to 打ち明ける, and still features a physical 重要な backup if the 殴打／砲列s die, then the TCL D1 プロの／賛成の is a solid choice.
