ChatGPT app suggestions have now been turned off after some 使用者s mistook them for 広告s
OpenAI hints at 未来 使用者 支配(する)/統制するs to 決定する what suggestions are shown
The (激しい)反発 示唆するs 広告s would not be welcome on the 壇・綱領・公約
使用者 怒り/怒る and 混乱 over 広告s appearing in ChatGPT continues, and it now looks like OpenAI has turned off its 議論の的になる app suggestions 完全に, because they looked too much like 広告s.
Over the 週末, different leaders at OpenAI 申し込む/申し出d 相反する 視野s on the "広告s that are not 広告s" 状況/情勢, with Marc Chen, 長,指導者 研究 Officer at OpenAI, 示唆するing, in a reply on X.com, that the company is turning off app suggestions altogether until it can "改善する the model's precision."
Chen also 示唆するd that OpenAI may 器具/実施する a way for 使用者s to turn off app suggestions in the 未来. "We are also looking at better 支配(する)/統制するs so you can dial this 負かす/撃墜する or off if you do not find it helpful."
How we got here
ChatGPT recently introduced apps within conversations, which means you can invoke an app 簡単に by asking a question. 現在/一般に, ChatGPT supports apps from 調書をとる/予約するing.com, Canva, Expedia, and others. OpenAI has also 解放(する)d an SDK for developers, so more apps can be 追加するd in the 未来.
The problem arose because ChatGPT also 示唆するs apps automatically when they seem 関連した to the discussion. For example, if you are talking about buying a new house, ChatGPT might 示唆する the Zillow app so you can browse listings inside ChatGPT using an interactive 地図/計画する.
Unfortunately, these app suggestions look 極端に 類似の to 広告s when they appear, as shown in screenshots 広まる online. 広告s have never been part of the ChatGPT experience until now.
使用者 混乱
Nick Turley, 長,率いる of ChatGPT, 否定するd that OpenAI was running 広告s in a 地位,任命する on X, 示唆するing the 混乱 was 予定 to 使用者 誤解 rather than OpenAI's 意向s.
"I'm seeing lots of 混乱 about 広告 噂するs in ChatGPT. There are no live 実験(する)s for 広告s, and any screenshots you have seen are either not real or not 広告s. If we do 追求する 広告s, we will take a thoughtful approach. People 信用 ChatGPT, and anything we do will be designed to 尊敬(する)・点 that."
But as 使用者s pointed out, if an app suggestion is indistinguishable from an 広告, it does not 事柄 what OpenAI calls it because the 使用者 experience is 正確に/まさに the same.
"偽の ones aside, the real ones that are 'not 広告s' are still eroding 信用 in the ChatGPT experience because they feel like 広告s," said X 使用者 Ben Dickenson.
In contrast, Marc Chen was more 懐柔的な and 認める that ChatGPT's app suggestions felt like 広告s. He 明言する/公表するd that the company has 現在/一般に turned them off, 説 it "fell short" of 使用者 期待s.
落ちるing short
There appears to have been some 内部の 混乱 at OpenAI over the 週末. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, who is usually quick to comment on ChatGPT 問題/発行するs, has been noticeably 静かな on X recently, and there has not been an 公式の/役人 声明 from the OpenAI account.
It seems 必然的な that 広告s will arrive on the ChatGPT 壇・綱領・公約 one day, but the 使用者 (激しい)反発 over app suggestions that looked like 広告s 示唆するs they would not be welcomed, 特に by 支払う/賃金ing 顧客s.
OpenAI may 主張する these were not 広告s, but 使用者s have made it (疑いを)晴らす that 意図 does not 事柄; only perception does. When ChatGPT brings suggestions 支援する, they will need to feel unmistakably different from advertising, or the (激しい)反発 will return just as 急速な/放蕩な.
