This is a second 試みる／企てる to explain FarWatch. It goes into more 詳細（に述べる） than the first. You should probably try that first, if you 港／避難所't already read it, and decided you want to know more!
If you have a home or 商売／仕事 with always-on broadband, you are not too far away from 存在 able to check up on that 場所 from any internet 終点, anywhere in the world. You're already 支払う／賃金ing for the broadband 関係. The techniques 述べるd here give you another 利益 from it, but without asking you to 支払う／賃金 for その上の services.
If you have a static IP 演説（する）／住所, the whole thing is easier. Even for those of us without static IP 演説（する）／住所s or Windows XP, there are answers.
This page is to give you an overview of what's needed.
The 解答 to the general problem is in two main parts. In what follows, "your PC" 言及するs to the one at the 前提s to be 監視するd. An old Win98 PC is 十分な for the 仕事, and the other stuff you need is 解放する／自由な!

The first half of the 解答....
- A program that will change a とじ込み／提出する on your PC. Some webcams can 繰り返して 蓄える／店 a 最近の 見解（をとる） of what they are seeing. Programs can be written (if the system has a little extra 金物類／武器類) to 生成する a jpeg showing graphs of 気温s and other 環境の 条件s, e.g. doors open or shut, etc. More 簡単に, you could have just a program that changes what is in a page of html, 含むing a bit of text with the date and time. This 極小の system would at least tell you that the 力／強力にする had not failed, and be a good springboard to build out to a more sophisticated 解答 if it, the simple 裁判，公判, worked 井戸／弁護士席. If you wired a 基準 thermostat to a joystick port, you could tell if the 気温 at the 監視するd 場所／位置 was above or below whatever the thermostat was 始める，決める to. Joysticks 申し込む／申し出 several inputs, so you could have several thermostats 監視するd, i.e. you could know if the 前提s were "hot", "warm", "冷淡な" or "very 冷淡な".
I have 解放（する）d a freeware program that will "do" for what you need. There are more 詳細（に述べる）s about it on my 詳細（に述べる）s of setting up FarWatch page. It can... but does not have to... interface with a MicroLan, to 報告（する）／憶測 気温s at the 監視するd 前提s.

- You must 始める，決める up an externally accessible web server on your PC. This isn't as bad as it sounds.

Something you might think you need....
If you don't have a static IP 演説（する）／住所, you DON'T need a domain 指名する (e.g. MyPlace.com). If you don't have a static IP 演説（する）／住所, you are going to acquire a domain 指名する along with the service that tells everyone where to find the Good Stuff that comes from that URL. (If you DO have a static IP 演説（する）／住所, getting your own domain 指名する is trivial... so simple that I 港／避難所't said anything about it here. 接触する me if you have the static IP 演説（する）／住所 and need help with the domain 指名する thing.)

どこかよそで, I have written up how to 始める，決める up a web server... (Don't be put off (as I was)... it is not hard or expensive. An old Win98 box will do.)
- A web server running on your PC, 地理学的に, 肉体的に, 現実に at the 場所／位置 you want to 監視する. This is an order of magnitude more clever than having a web page on someone else's server. My page, the one you are reading now, is in that 歩行者 （軍の）野営地，陣営. My office may have 燃やすd 負かす／撃墜する by the time you read this, but the page will still be 利用できる because it comes to you from a server どこかよそで.
Once you have your own server... and it isn't just for the 最高の Geeks... you can 地位，任命する much more 即座の, 利益／興味ing stuff. The 指示／教授／教育s どこかよそで will show you how to 始める，決める up the 尊敬（する）・点d, open source, freeware server called Apache. (Also 利用できる in Linux.)
- An account with DynDns.org. This will 許す you (or anyone you give the URL to) to 接近 your server, even if your internet service provider (ISP) does NOT 供給（する） you with a "static IP 演説（する）／住所". (If you are wondering what that is, you probably don't have one... but it doesn't 事柄.... DynDns solves the problem.)
どこかよそで, I have written up how to 始める，決める up the DynDnsUpdaterprogram...
- A little 解放する／自由な program which will take care of the necessary 仕事 of periodically checking to see if the IP 演説（する）／住所 your ISP has 割り当てるd to you for the moment has changed, and if it has, 知らせるing the nice people at DynDns.org of the change, so that they can take care of what's needed so that people looking for your "stuff" can still find it. N.B.: You may not need the updater. Some routers have DynDns support built it... those routers can be 始める，決める up to do the updating as needed.
- Your firewall, etc, ーするために の近くに some of the gaps in your 弁護s which will open if you 請け負う this 事業／計画（する） without attention those "詳細（に述べる）s".
So! You have broadband? What are you waiting for?

Old friends... 引用する server...
Old friends of FarWatch may remember that at one point there was a 引用する at the 底（に届く） of the page. The code for that has been 除去するd for the time 存在, but, speaking of 引用するs....
(Something like the above can be 追加するd, 解放する／自由な, to any webpage with one simple line of Javascript. Thank you BrainyQuote for making this 利用できる!)

The search engine 単に looks for the words you type, so....
