Volunteers, not Amateurs
複雑にするd ソフトウェア, developed by volunteers?
Apache OpenOffice is developed 100% by volunteers. Apache does not 支払う／賃金 for developers, for 翻訳家s, for QA, for marketing, for UI, for support, etc. Of course, we’re happy to 受託する 寄付s to the Apache ソフトウェア 創立／基礎, to keep our servers running and for 類似の 総計費 expenses. But our 製品s are developed 完全に by volunteers.
Some 使用者s are 最初 worried by this 声明. How can ソフトウェア for 解放する／自由な, developed by volunteers, be any good?
Talent as 深い as any 会社／団体
OpenOffice, through its １０年間 加える 存在, has had, and continues to 利益 from the 出資／貢献s of many professionals. Some are sponsored by their 雇用者s to volunteer with the 事業／計画（する）. At one time or another Sun, Oracle, Novell, Redhat, IBM and others have sponsored their 従業員s to work on OpenOffice. Some professional are recently retired and work on the 事業／計画（する） to keep their 技術s sharp or to “give 支援する” to the open source community. Others have a 商売／仕事 based on OpenOffice 協議するing, and volunteer with the 事業／計画（する） to stay の近くに to 可能性のある 顧客s. Others are students, 熟考する／考慮するing ソフトウェア 工学 or a 関係のある field, and 参加する in our 事業／計画（する） as a form of electronic internship. の中で our volunteers are several programmers with over a １０年間’s experience working on OpenOffice. So our all-volunteer 原則 is a 声明 of how we are 組織するd, as a 非，不，無-利益（をあげる）. We do not 支払う／賃金 for developers. But this is not a 声明 on the professionalism and talent of our volunteers. In fact, very few 会社／団体s would be able to afford the 肉親，親類d of talent that we have, as volunteers, helping with Apache OpenOffice.
