スポットライト: On Developers and 科学(工学)技術
Scott Carr, Maintainer, Documentation 事業/計画(する)
I am 28, and have been fooling with computers for about 18 years now. I am a programmer for a company that develops telephony 製品s; I developed my 技術s in programming through 裁判,公判 and error over the last several years. For the past year, I have been using and 可決する・採択するing GNU/Linux as my main desktop. Although I still program for several companies in VB, I am trying to migrate them to the more open 解答 GNU/Linux has to 申し込む/申し出.
My 利益/興味s 含む computers, programming, playing guitar, and working on Open Source and 解放する/自由な ソフトウェア 事業/計画(する)s. Of the different models for programming I have worked in, I enjoy the feeling of 株ing that one gets from the Open Source and 解放する/自由な ソフトウェア communities.
I have recently become the maintainer for the Documentation and User_FAQ 事業/計画(する)s for OpenOffice. Already, as a team, people have been 交流ing ideas and 共同製作 to create a help system for the OpenOffice.org 事業/計画(する) as a whole. I have never met any of the people on this "team" in person, but we have already been working together in a way most companies only "say" they do. This is the 約束 of what can happen in Open Source and 解放する/自由な ソフトウェア.
Open Source and 解放する/自由な ソフトウェア are certainly not just an American 概念, but the idea does bring to mind a 確かな phrase, "We the people..." I believe the 残り/休憩(する) can be filled in. This ideal helped bring together a nation. This ideal is what brings together the open source community. The people are what make the 事業/計画(する), not the 法人組織の/企業の 決定/判定勝ち(する)s of pointy haired 経営者/支配人s. To me, this is open source and 解放する/自由な ソフトウェア.
Have fun...
