スポットライト 13: Scott Hutinger
Scott Hutinger is best known for his work in the Porting 事業／計画（する）, but he is also probably familiar to readers of the discuss 会議 for his his たびたび（訪れる） 出資／貢献s to the 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）. Scott's 出資／貢献s, to Porting and to the general OpenOffice.org 事業／計画（する）, are enormous and important. I asked him to 供給する some insight into his work for OpenOffice.org, and into his 利益／興味 in the 事業／計画（する）. The below is a わずかに edited 見解／翻訳／版 of his emailed 返答.
Skydiving is what spawned my 利益／興味 in OpenOffice.org, at the beginning, when Sun 発表するd they were going to 解放（する） the source code. Porting is really pretty simple, in most instances, but it takes a bit of time to 人物／姿／数字 out how to do it. The first time a person tries to do a port, it's a bit 圧倒的な. Once past that 圧倒的な feeling, it get's a lot easier. I just want people to know that it's certainly easier to port [code someone else has written] than to 令状 your own code. A person can get in however 深い they want, which isn't the 事例／患者 when 令状ing your own code. People just don't know what they are 行方不明の with this strange porting thing. So come on all you people that 港／避難所't started, it's really 平易な!
My 利益／興味 in the Mac OS X port began when the Lisa was 解放（する）d and I just happened to have 接近 to all those 冷静な／正味の toys Apple was starting to make. The problem was, I was an 議会 language person who thought high level languages were pretty lame. Today my mind is 180 degree's different. Thanks to the Mac, I started my first high level language with C, since it 許すd me to still 令状 half my code in assembler. I hide this fact pretty 井戸／弁護士席, so don't tell anyone.
The Mac OS X port is really one of the most 利益／興味ing ports. It has a lot of code that needs to fit inside an OS that is a bit different than most. Although I seem to make a lot of noise that doesn't make sense to some, it's about a passion for an OS and OpenOffice.org, not against people. About 10 years ago at an Apple World Wide Developer 会議／協議会, I told a friend of 地雷 that the Mac should move over to Unix. I tend to take strange 見解（をとる）s that are pretty strong. Lucky for myself, someone else thinks a bit different that got this OS X thing a reality.
I think once the OS X port starts moving, it's going to be a pretty 急速な／放蕩な port. I know things are changing with OS X, which is about to become a lot more stable in all areas. It's about prime time for take-off すぐに. Don't forget to fasten your seat belts, and anyone is 許すd to board.
