陳謝s for the neglect and 延期する in getting this Number Five out! As many of you might know, we've been rather busy arranging things for the 近づいている 解放（する） of OpenOffice.org 1.0. For me, the work has 含むd 一覧表にするing the 投票（する） (still 現在進行中の; if you want results faster, help me), and making sure that the homepage and download page are 現実に intelligible to the uninitiated.
But the advent of 1.0 is not the only thing that has been 伴う／関わるing the OpenOffice.org community. We have just finished moving the Marketing 事業／計画（する） to its new home (http://marketing.openoffice.org/), creating the new lang 事業／計画（する）s (see http://lang.openoffice.org/ for updates), and 新たにするing the Website 事業／計画（する）.
As the 指名する 示唆するs, the Website 事業／計画（する） 関心s itself with the "look" and architecture of OpenOffice.org. Our 委任統治（領） now is to 改善する these important features. As many of you are aware, the 場所／位置 navigates 貧しく (think: 迷宮／迷路) and seems designed to 納得させる you that you need reading glasses. 井戸／弁護士席, we'd like to 直す／買収する，八百長をする these 問題／発行するs. To me, it's obvious that OpenOffice.org is 権利 now を受けるing an 爆発 of activity, much of it sponsored by 使用者s who want to 追加する to the 事業／計画（する） and who want to その上の OpenOffice.org's 全世界の availability. But, complementing the enduser activity, the technical 事業／計画（する）s have also 存在 seeing a 殺到する of work. I would like in particular to point attention to the XML 事業／計画（する） (http://xml.openoffice.org).
What does the XML 事業／計画（する） do? Lead by Michael Bauer, the 事業／計画（する） "含む／封じ込めるs support for and 実施 of the XML based とじ込み／提出する 判型"; and its 使節団 is "to create an open and ubiquitous XML-based とじ込み／提出する 判型 for office 文書s and to 供給する an open 言及／関連 実施 for this 判型." Why is this important? Let's put it this way: One of the things that makes OpenOffice.org 製品 際立った and 柔軟な is its XML-based とじ込み／提出する 判型. This means that it can work 井戸／弁護士席 with other XML-ready 使用／適用s and it means that it is far abler to take advantage of the 全世界の swing to XML than other office 控訴s (yes, that one).
To give an idea of just how 柔軟な XML makes OpenOffice.org, here are the 核心 goals, as 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）d on the XML homepage:
- The とじ込み／提出する 判型 should be developed in such a way that it will be 受託するd by the community and can be placed under community 支配（する）／統制する for 未来 開発 and 判型 進化.
- The とじ込み／提出する 判型s should be suitable for all office types: text 過程ing, spreadsheet, 贈呈, 製図／抽選, charting, and math.
- The とじ込み／提出する 判型s should 再使用する 部分s of each other as much as possible (so for example a spreadsheet （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する 鮮明度／定義 can work also as a text 過程ing （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する 鮮明度／定義).
