The に引き続いて 簡潔な/要約する interview was 行為/行うd 経由で e-mail 早期に September. It was very minimally edited.
Tell us about yourself, what you do for OpenOffice.org and how you got 利益/興味d in the 事業/計画(する)....
I'm a high school student in Massachusetts (USA). I'm not your typical volunteer in an open source 事業/計画(する) (if there is such a thing); I have little programming knowledge, don't use Linux (although I wish I could), and am most 関心d with how new 使用者s 見解(をとる) the 事業/計画(する). I do have website 開発 技術s - so I've put those to use in the website 事業/計画(する).
I've worked on general 維持/整備 and the screenshots page for the website, and most recently I've been 監視するing the website-feedback 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる). Because I like working with new 使用者s, I try to 大勝する questions (and typos) to the appropriate 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる)s and help people enter the OpenOffice.org world.
I honestly don't remember how I got 利益/興味d in the 事業/計画(する) - I think perusing Download.com and つまずくd across an 利益/興味ing program. It took me a while to 人物/姿/数字 out how the 事業/計画(する) worked - so now I try to make that learning 過程 easier for other newbies.
Why OpenOffice.org?
Why OpenOffice.org the 製品? Because it's 平易な to use; because the とじ込み/提出する sizes are smaller; because the 控訴 is more stable (IMHO) than MSOffice. More importantly, why OpenOffice.org the 事業/計画(する)? It's fun to be 伴う/関わるd, and it's a worthwhile 成果/努力.
How can others get 伴う/関わるd?
選ぶ something you really like to do, I think, and then find out how you can 適用する it to OpenOffice. I like to teach (and 教える), and I also like to do website design, so I 設立する my niche in looking out for the new 使用者 in the website 開発 過程. 製図/抽選, computer programming, 令状ing, translating - all of these hobbies can translate 権利 into volunteer 役割s in OpenOffice.org. I 心から think that *everyone*, no 事柄 what their level of 専門的知識 with computers, can somehow find a way to make a difference in the 事業/計画(する).
