Abstract

OpenOffice.org, Unicode-enabled itself, 許すs to 接近非，不，無-Unicode (8-Bit) databases. Thus when 移転ing string data from 関係s to such databases, OOo must 変える the data into UniCode. For this, the 使用者 can 明示する which character 始める，決める to use for this 転換.

Character 始める，決めるs are 明示するd per data source. This means that in the data source 行政 dialog, there is an 選択 where the 使用者 chooses a character 始める，決める to use for every 関係 created for a data source.
The Character 始める，決めるs setting is 利用できる for the に引き続いて data source types: Adabas, ODBC, dBase, Text, MySQL (when adapted 経由で ODBC, see the MySQL spec)
In general (with on exception, see below), only character 始める，決めるs which are part of the 各々の IANA-基準 can be supported by StarOffice. The 推論する／理由 for this is that character 始める，決めるs need to be 輸送（する）d 経由で UNO, and instead of defining an own 基準 for 指名するing them, we decided to use the most 包括的な基準利用できる - IANA.
OpenOffice.org 見解／翻訳／版s up to 1.0.x supported only a very 限られた／立憲的な始める，決める of character 始める，決めるs, すなわち windows-1252, macintosh, IBMPC 437, ~850,~860,~861,~863,~865,~866, UTF-8 and Big5-HKSCS.

Since OpenOffice.org 1.1, this 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） has been 延長するd. For compatibility 推論する／理由s, the encodings above form the very 極小の始める，決める of 要求するd encodings.

Nowadays, OOo data sources support every encoding which is known to OOo in general, and which is a valid IANA 指名する. This 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） is much too large to 特記する／引用する it here 完全に, and it can be 延長するd in the 未来 without その上の notice.

The 陳列する，発揮する指名するs of the character 始める，決めるs are the usual 指名するs as used in other places, too (for instance "道具s/選択s/負担/Save/HTML compatibility/Character 始める，決める").
There is one "事実上の" character 始める，決める指名するd "System". Choosing this just means that the 現在の system character 始める，決める is used, so the 使用者 does not need to care for an explicit setting. This is the default when creating new data sources. For Text and dBase data sources, all text encodings which do not have a constant character size are forbidden. For instance, UTF-8 uses a different number of bytes to code different characters – thus UTF-8 and all character 始める，決めるs with the same 特徴 are not 許すd for dBase and Text.
Consider a character 始める，決める which, in the 現在の環境 or for the 現在の data source type, is not 利用できる. First, this means that the 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） box for selecting the character 始める，決めるs does not 陳列する，発揮する it. If, however, the 使用者 changed the character 始める，決める for a data source by other means than our UI, then we fallback to “System encoding”, means instead of the 無効の encoding “System” is 陳列する，発揮するd.
