HOW-TO use Microsoft 接近 databases from within OpenOffice.org 1.1

OpenOffice.org (OOo) is able to read and 令状 from a wide variety of databases, as long as they support one of the 基準 interface specifications such as ODBC or JDBC. Fortunately, Microsoft 接近 (MS-接近) supports ODBC. This HOW-TO takes you step by step through the 過程 of linking OOo to MS-接近 using ODBC.

The 過程 has three simple steps:

Create an ODBC Data Source for each database you want to use (you only need to do this once per database)
Create an ODBC Data Source within OpenOffice.org for each database (you only need to do this once)
Enjoy using your MS-接近 databases in OOo!

Creating an ODBC Data Source for the MS-接近 database

Within MS-Windows, choose Start -> Settings -> 支配（する）／統制するパネル盤 and 二塁打-click the ODBC Data Sources icon

to run the ODBC Data Source 行政官／管理者:

Click on the 追加する button to 陳列する，発揮する the Create New Data Source 対話 box:

Select the Microsoft 接近 Driver and 圧力（をかける） the Finish button. This will 陳列する，発揮する the ODBC Microsoft 接近体制／機構 対話 box:

Give the new data source a 指名する (e.g. the same 指名する as your MS-接近 database) and a description. Use the Select button to select your MS-接近 database とじ込み／提出する (*.dbf) and 圧力（をかける） 承認する.

You should now see the ODBC Data Source you have created 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）d in the ODBC Data Source 行政官／管理者:

Click 承認する to の近くに the 行政官／管理者. 公式文書，認める that every database you want to use in OOo will need to have its own ODBC Data Source defined here.

Creating a Data Source within OOo

From within an OOo 使用／適用, select 道具s -> Data Sources... You will notice that OOo comes with one pre-任命する／導入するd Data Source called Bibliography. Ignore this, and 圧力（をかける） the New Data Source button

Select Database Type ODBC, and 圧力（をかける） the select button [...] and choose the ODBC Data Source you have just created. Give it a 指名する, 圧力（をかける） the 適用する button, and 圧力（をかける） 承認する to の近くに the Data Source 行政道具.
