Welcome

Custom ソフトウェア 開発

Boring stuff about Hentzenwerke

Welcome

Welcome to Hentzenwerke. We're a small family-run 商売/仕事, 専攻するing in custom ソフトウェア 開発 and technical 調書をとる/予約する publishing. You probably won't find all the glitz and fancy features that some of the big guys have on their web 場所/位置s, but you should 推定する/予想する friendly, personalized service and a better 質 製品.

調書をとる/予約するs

Our 使節団 is to produce 広大な/多数の/重要な 調書をとる/予約するs for serious developers. Not 簡単に 調書をとる/予約するs that are 満足な, or 承認する, or good enough. We want the reader to 停止する every 調書をとる/予約する of ours and say, "This is a GREAT 調書をとる/予約する!" We don't have 割当s or 人工的な 最終期限s 課すd by the beancounters in another city. We just want to produce 広大な/多数の/重要な 調書をとる/予約するs.

Custom ソフトウェア 開発

We've been 令状ing custom ソフトウェア 使用/適用s for over two 10年間s. For most of that period, our 最初の/主要な 道具 has been Visual FoxPro. 予定 to Microsoft's neglect at marketing VFP, the market for new 使用/適用s pretty much 戦車/タンクd over the past few years, and the 適切な時期s for Linux have grown 意味ありげに over the same time, so while I'm still building apps with VFP when there's a call to, I'm spending most of my time in a growth market - custom 商売/仕事 使用/適用s on Linux.

Boring stuff about Hentzenwerke

Hentzenwerke was started in 1982 after Whil Hentzen realized that he wasn't going to become 大統領,/社長 of his first 雇用者 out of school, a 110 year old machine 道具 製造者 that rewarded seniority above everything else (like competence, or having a pulse) before he was 30. (BTW, that former Fortune 300 company has now laid off 90% of their 従業員s and the closest they've gotten to the Fortune 500 in the past ten years was when their CEO walked by the magazine in the 地元の drugstore. Bitter? Ha! Not any longer...)

So, the thinking went, if you can't rise to the 最高の,を越す, why not start at the 最高の,を越す, and fill the 組織の chart from there?

At the same time, the IBM PC had just been introduced, and he had taught a couple of night-school classes on Lotus 1-2-3 for a friend at a 地元の community college. Seeing how these companies were desperate for training on this new-fangled ソフトウェア, he decided to go into 商売/仕事 for himself, and, with his wife, Linda, 始める,決める up a training company that did 法人組織の/企業の training and, すぐに thereafter, PC programming using dBASE II.

Years passed.

People were 雇うd, people やめる, and neither the Reds nor the Bengals could 勝利,勝つ a 選手権 all 10年間. Family 問題/発行するs (sick parents, new babies) drove a move 支援する to Whil's hometown, Milwaukee, where he 始める,決める up (軍の)野営地,陣営 all over again, but this time 厳密に as a ソフトウェア developer, using dBASE's much superior 交替/補充, FoxPro.

An off-手渡す comment by Adam Green led Whil to discover Compuserve, and within a couple of years, he was one of the most たびたび(訪れる) posters in the FoxForum. He started 令状ing for FoxTalk, the 主要な 出版(物) for FoxPro, then became a columnist, and then editor. (Visit www.pinpub.com for more info about FoxTalk. There's my plug.) In that timeframe, he wrote 早い 使用/適用 開発 with FoxPro 2.6, a 125 page 調書をとる/予約する published and marketed by Pinnacle.

A year later he wrote the introductory 容積/容量 for Microsoft Visual FoxPro 3.0, Programming Visual FoxPro 3.0, for Ziff-Davis, the folks who at the time published PC Magazine. This 900 page behemoth became the 基準 text for anyone learning Visual FoxPro, and still sells an 時折の copy seven years later.

At the same time, he was building a ソフトウェア 開発 shop 中心d around FoxPro, 結局 growing to a half-dozen folks, and 扱うing 多重の six-人物/姿/数字 事業/計画(する)s for a variety of companies around the Midwest.

The 3.0 調書をとる/予約する led to his first self-出版(物) 成果/努力, the 1997 Developer's Guide, which in turn led to a 十分な-育てる/巣立つd publishing company 存在 formed for the 生産/産物 of a 一連の Visual FoxPro 6.0 調書をとる/予約するs. The success of those 調書をとる/予約するs has resulted in the 新規加入 of more 肩書を与えるs, to the point where Hentzenwerke Publishing has several dozen 肩書を与えるs under its belt.

支援する to 最高の,を越す
