Patch 製造者 Quickstart
Patch 製造者 is a 道具 which encapsulates and 加速するs ありふれた ソフトウェア 開発 操作／手術s when using CVS or SVN. It helps you:
- keep 跡をつける of any number of patches
- switch easily between working on different patches without 衝突／不一致s
- keep 記録，記録的な／記録するs of your work, so you never lose anything
- know which changes belong to which patch
- search only the 関連した とじ込み／提出するs for a particular string
- 合併する and 抽出する your changes for 大（公）使館員ing to bugs

Terminology
- patchref - a short string by which a patch is identified. Bug numbers make very good patchrefs.
- とじ込み／提出する 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） - a 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） of the paths of all the とじ込み／提出するs 伴う／関わるd in the 現在の patch
Patch 製造者 keeps two とじ込み／提出するs relating to each patch - the とじ込み／提出する 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）, について言及するd above, 指名するd <patchref>.とじ込み／提出するs, and the 最新の results of the pmdiff 命令（する）, 指名するd <patchref>.diff. Both とじ込み／提出するs are kept in the data directory, 明示するd in your .pmrc とじ込み／提出する.
取り付け・設備
You need a copy of CVS or SVN and a working checked-out tree of the ソフトウェア you are working on. Getting these things is beyond the 範囲 of this 文書.
You need Perl. Move the pm script somewhere on your path. Create a .pmrc とじ込み／提出する to match your 体制／機構. This 許すs you to define things like your favourite editor, and where you want Patch 製造者 to keep its とじ込み／提出するs.
Change to the directory where you put the script, and run perl pm --init. This will create symlinks or （製品，工事材料の）一回分 とじ込み／提出するs as appropriate, which let you use the "short form" Patch 製造者 命令（する）s. If you are on Windows and using the cygwin bash 爆撃する instead of the DOS 誘発する, you might like to ignore the （製品，工事材料の）一回分 とじ込み／提出するs and 始める，決める up 偽名，通称s in your .bashrc instead.

pmlist has a handy feature if you are 実験（する）ing or
working on other people's patches. Save their patch as
patchref.diff in your data directory, and pmswitch to a new
patchref. Run pmlist. Patch 製造者 will understand you've
grabbed someone else's patch, and 居住させる the とじ込み／提出する 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） with the
指名するs of the とじ込み／提出するs 言及／関連d in the patch.
Worked Example
Here's an example use which shows off most of the features (using the long 指名するs for all 命令（する）, for clarity.) You start in the root of your CVS sandbox. You use pmswitch <patchreference> to tell Patch 製造者 you are working on a particular patch. Bug numbers make 特に good patch 言及／関連s; you shouldn't use any characters in a patch 言及／関連 that aren't 許すd in filenames. Once you are working on that patch, you run pmlist to see you have no とじ込み／提出するs. So use pmadd <pathname> to 追加する some.
When some filenames are in the 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）, pmedit <pattern> will 負担 all the とじ込み／提出するs from the 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） matching the pattern into your editor. So, pmedit *.js will 負担 all the Javascript とじ込み／提出するs in your working とじ込み／提出するs 始める，決める. Having edited the とじ込み／提出するs and saved them, to get a diff to 服従させる／提出する for review, 遂行する／発効させる pmdiff. It will produce a diff of only the とじ込み／提出するs in the とじ込み／提出する 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） (handy if you are working on several things in the same directory). Use pmview to have a look at it.
If you need to attach the patches to a bug, you'll find them
called <patchref>.diff in the Patch 製造者 data
directory that you 明示するd in the script at 任命する／導入する time.
Trying It Out
This is a step-by-step 手渡すs-on tutorial using Mozilla as an example. It could probably be followed using other bits of ソフトウェア.
- This is a 非，不，無-destructive 実験（する） :-)
- Change to your Mozilla source directory.
- 遂行する／発効させる pms 実験（する）. Patch 製造者 will tell you that you are working on patch "実験（する）".
- 確認する this with pmw.
- 遂行する／発効させる pma xpfe/browser/資源s/content/航海士.xul.
- Save the とじ込み／提出する 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）.
- Run a pmu to make sure you have the 最新の 見解／翻訳／版 of this とじ込み／提出する.
- 遂行する／発効させる pme. Notice that 航海士.xul appears in your editor. Try pme foo to see that you have no とじ込み／提出するs that match "foo".
- Make some changes to 航海士.xul - search for "&mainWindow.肩書を与える;" and 取って代わる that string with "MyBrowser".
- Then, 遂行する／発効させる pmd and pmv. You should now have an editor window with a 統一するd diff showing the changes you made.
- 遂行する／発効させる pmc to watch your new 見解／翻訳／版 get copied into your Mozilla 任命する／導入する.
- Change 航海士.xul again (追加するing a space will do) and save it.
- Run Mozilla.
- You should have a Mozilla 肩書を与えるd "MyBrowser".
- You could attach your patch to a Bugzilla bug by fishing it out of your Patch 製造者 data directory.
