The City of the End of Things

Its roofs and アイロンをかける towers have grown
非，不，無 knoweth how high within the night,
But in its murky streets far 負かす／撃墜する
A 炎上ing terrible and 有望な
Shakes all the stalking 影をつくる／尾行するs there,
Across the 塀で囲むs, across the 床に打ち倒すs,
And 転換s upon the upper 空気／公表する
From out a thousand furnace doors;
And all the while an awful 一連の会議、交渉／完成する
Keeps roaring on continually,
And 衝突，墜落s in the ceaseless sound
Of a gigantic harmony.
Through its grim depths re-echoing
And all its 疲れた／うんざりした 高さ of 塀で囲むs,
With 手段d roar and アイロンをかける （犯罪の）一味,
The 残忍な music 解除するs and 落ちるs.
Where no thing 残り／休憩（する）s and no man is,
And only 解雇する／砲火／射撃 and night 持つ／拘留する sway;
The （警官の）巡回区域，受持ち区域, the 雷鳴 and the hiss
中止する not, and change not, night nor day.
And moving at unheard 命令（する）s,
The abysses and 広大な 解雇する／砲火／射撃s between,
Flit 人物／姿／数字s that with clanking 手渡すs
Obey a hideous 決まりきった仕事;
They are not flesh, they are not bone,
They see not with the human 注目する，もくろむ,
And from their アイロンをかける lips is blown
A dreadful and monotonous cry;
And whoso of our mortal race
Should find that city unaware,
Lean Death would smite him 直面する to 直面する,
And blanch him with its venomed 空気／公表する:
Or caught by the terrific （一定の）期間,
Each thread of memory snapt and 削減（する）,
His soul would shrivel and its 爆撃する
Go 動揺させるing like an empty nut.

It was not always so, but once,
In days that no man thinks upon,
Fair 発言する／表明するs echoed from its 石／投石するs,
The light above it leaped and shone:
Once there were multitudes of men,
That built that city in their pride,
Until its might was made, and then
They withered age by age and died.
But now of that prodigious race,
Three only in an アイロンをかける tower,
始める，決める like carved idols 直面する to 直面する,
Remain the masters of its 力／強力にする;
And at the city gate a fourth,
Gigantic and with dreadful 注目する，もくろむs,
Sits looking toward the lightless north,
Beyond the reach of memories;
急速な／放蕩な rooted to the lurid 床に打ち倒す,
A 本体，大部分／ばら積みの that never moves a 手早く書き留める,
In his pale 団体／死体 dwells no more,
Or mind or soul,---an idiot!
But いつか in the end those three
Shall 死なせる／死ぬ and their 手渡すs be still,
And with the master's touch shall 逃げる
Their incommunicable 技術.
A stillness 絶対の as death
Along the slacking wheels shall 嘘（をつく）,
And, flagging at a 選び出す／独身 breath,
The 解雇する／砲火／射撃s that moulder out and die.
The roar shall 消える at its 高さ,
And over that tremendous town
The silence of eternal night
Shall gather の近くに and settle 負かす／撃墜する.
All its grim grandeur, tower and hall,
Shall be abandoned utterly,
And into rust and dust shall 落ちる
From century to century;
Nor ever living thing shall grow,
Nor trunk of tree, nor blade of grass;
No 減少（する） shall 落ちる, no 勝利，勝つd shall blow,
Nor sound of any foot shall pass:
Alone of its accursed 明言する／公表する,
One thing the 手渡す of Time shall spare,
For the grim Idiot at the gate
Is deathless and eternal there.
