For many years, I have been working on an ever 拡大するing collection of tutorials on using the excellent Borland Delphi. Delphi is based on Pascal, so, along the way I've had an 利益／興味 in Pascal.

Now! Please be advised: I've written one 5 line program with FPC Pascal, and I 港／避難所't even 調査するd the Lazarus 場所／位置. But I have a Very Good Feeling about both. And about 35 years of programming experience.
Even if Lazarus is 不成功の, which I have no 推論する／理由 to 推定する／予想する, but a "解放する／自由な Delphi" is almost too much to hope for, but, even if Lazarus is 不成功の... the 解放する／自由な FPC Pascal may 井戸／弁護士席 be the answer to the many, many people who would like 接近 to a good programming language, with cross 壇・綱領・公約 能力s, and a very attractive price.
Based on that belief, I am going to spend some time 令状ing "How To's" for you.
The 公式の／役人 FPC Pascal 場所／位置 has, of course, lots and lots of good stuff for you, not least 任命する／導入する guides which are much slicker, and much better 知らせるd that the に引き続いて.

(I'm only going to say "FPC" 今後, not "FPC Pascal".
First I went along to the FPC download 場所／位置. Once there, I selected ver 2.0.4 binary for "Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP"
Downloaded fpc-2.0.4.i386-win32.exe, which was 28 MB of 構成要素.

The Windows API 部隊s may be things that you won't need until you go beyond creating console 使用／適用s (what you will do for a while, if you don't know what that means)... but, 特に if you begin to work with Lazarus, I 推定する／予想する the day will come when you want to move beyond console 使用／適用s, and when you do (if not before) you're going to need those Windows API 部隊s. Now for an account of day- to- day use of the 製品....
The installer will have put a "解放する／自由な Pascal" 入ること／参加（者） in your "Start" menu, in a folder called "解放する／自由な Pascal". 二塁打 click on that. A DOS window should open almost すぐに. At this point, don't worry! It looks as if something's wrong, or as if the computer is waiting for you to enter some 命令（する）. Be 患者! After what will seem an age until you are used to it, "stuff" will appear in the window, not least a menu 妨げる／法廷，弁護士業 and an edit window. Don't worry... once "awake" it runs as 急速な／放蕩な as it should. (On my reasonably 急速な／放蕩な (for it's vintage) Win98 machine, it just took 40 seconds.) ** WAIT FOR IT!!! **
Outside FPC, using Windows Explorer 始める，決める up a folder of the に引き続いて 指名する, with spaces if you want them, although having 非，不，無 may be safer. (I use "TKB", my 初期のs, in place of "My" in things like the に引き続いて. If you have 類似して 非，不，無 あいまいな 初期のs, I recommend you do the same. MS loves to 捨てる things on your disk called MyThis, MyThat, MyTheOther... and how do you tell them from things you 手配中の，お尋ね者?)

The FPC- MyPrgms folder is a "コンテナ" for lots of other folders. I 一般に use a new folder for each 事業／計画（する）. Apart from anything else, it saves me 存在 clever about ReadMe とじ込み／提出するs. I have lots! But I know from the folder it is in what a given one 適用するs to. Having separate folders may be overkill. See how you get on.
Then go 支援する into FPC, and enter....

(You can, by the way, use your mouse, and you can use Windows copy/ paste... with a slight "nod" to the fact that you're in something that also runs on Linux, and which, on Windows, is working as in the MS-DOS days of old. To copy from Windows, into the FPC editor, as you might want to, to save transcribing the above by 注目する，もくろむ and finger, you copy the Windows source as you would 普通は (select 要求するd 構成要素, 圧力（をかける） ctrl-C). You then click inside the FPC editor and use the "Paste From Windows" 選択 under the "Edit" menu item. (To do the opposite- copy from FPC to Windows- you select the 構成要素 you want, use the "Edit" menu item 選択 "Copy to Windows", move to whatever Windows 使用／適用 you 手配中の，お尋ね者 the 構成要素 in, and do a normal Windows paste (ctrl-V)
Request "Run" from the menu, and then "Run" again from the sub-menu. Or just use Ctrl-F9. A Save As dialog will pop up. Navigate to the folder you created earlier. 公式文書，認める: To go up the folder tree, click on the ..\Save the program as "FirstFPCPrgm".
You may have typos in what you entered, in which 事例／患者 you find and 直す／買収する，八百長をする them and try run again. (You say "Yes, I know; now go away." to message boxes by clicking the little square at their upper left.)
結局, the program seemed to run, but I 設立する myself 支援する in IDE after only a glimpse of a white- on- 黒人／ボイコット 審査する with "Hi, 21 June 2007" on it. The "trick" is to open a 執拗な "生産（高）" window. You can switch between windows with F6, and switch the 現在の window between maximized and 回復するd with F5.
The people at Borland were very 早期に 開拓するs in the use of windows. You could do windows in Turbo Pascal before you could buy Windows!
The IDE has syntax 最高潮の場面ing, oh joy!
Much of the IDE is reminiscent at first 会合 of Borland's Turbo Pascal... but in FPC, the mouse 作品 適切に without hassle. (You can get it to work with TP, too.)
