Are you looking for ways to use computers in sensing and 支配（する）／統制する 使用／適用s? You don't need to be a programmer of electronics engineer... but if you are either, you are not "locked out"...you'll be able to do lots with the 装置 I'm going to discuss. The picture shows four I/O 監査役s, so that you can see 前線 and 支援する, and the two connector 選択s.
In late May 05, I 得るd an ethernet connected 数字表示式の input 生産（高） 監査役 部隊 from HW group. I'll call it the IOC 今後. It has a serial port, too!
It can do MORE than the に引き続いて, but let's start with something simple:
You can put the IOC wherever you want... as long as you can get a LAN 関係 to it from a PC. Now, from the PC, you can read the IOC's inputs, or change the 明言する／公表する of it's 生産（高）s. If you have several PCs on the LAN, you can either let all of them 接近 the IOC, or 始める，決める up 制限s. I believe that as long as the PC is on the internet, and you 始める，決める things up accordingly, you can 接近 the IOC from any internet 終点. I believe there are 準備／条項s to password 保護する 接近 to the 装置. (A 詳細（に述べる）: the inputs 報告（する）／憶測 "0" disconnected, or connected to the ありふれた ground 株d by all of the inputs. They 報告（する）／憶測 "1" if connected to 8 to 20volts. the inputs are opto isolator 保護するd. In other words, these are voltage sensing inputs, not 抵抗 sensors.)
関係のない to the above... the 装置 also has a serial port. That can be used for configuring it (though you don't need to use it). More excitingly, you can have an extra "serial port" "on" your PC... but 現実に connected across the LAN. Do you know how many 装置s there are out there that will talk to a serial port? With the IOC, you can connect them to your PC without them having to be next to your PC.
They say a picture is 価値（がある） a 1000 words. This picture is 価値（がある） 10,000, to me, anyway. The 装置 pretty much worked "out of the box", if you just 手配中の，お尋ね者 to interact with it 経由で the HW group 供給（する）d 小型の-（弁護士の）依頼人... which LOOKS like what you can see on the 審査する in the photo.
However, the ソフトウェア in the photo is of my own 工夫するing, derived from the HW group デモ.... and, because........
* I'm working with Delphi 2, (because I like to Keep It Simple),
* I hadn't ever "rolled my own" （弁護士の）依頼人/ server 使用／適用 before,
(井戸／弁護士席... I had, but only by using a DLL which isn't 自由に 利用できる),
* I went 負かす／撃墜する several blind alleys,
.... I had many hours of "fun" "learning" before everything was sorted out! But what a buzz when it worked! !
I 強調する／ストレス: There was nothing wrong with the HW group I//O 監査役, or the web-server inside it. It was "just" that I had to master （弁護士の）依頼人 server work. I now have good answers to what gave me grief. As usual, it isn't hard to do. I will be 令状ing it up here and in my Delphi tutorials at some point. (If you have the 十分な developer 見解／翻訳／版 of a 最近の Delphi, you may need nothing more. For the 残り／休憩（する） of us, a 広大な／多数の／重要な, 解放する／自由な, 解答 is "ICS" (Internet 関係 控訴), from ベルギー François Piette. It 供給（する）s what you need for Delphi (ver 1- at least 7) and C, and probably others. Use http://www.overbyte.be/arch/ics.zip if the "download" button doesn't work. Be sure to use Winzip or 類似の's 施設 to 持続する paths during the unzip. (WinZip: Use 抽出する, tick box... don't just drag and 減少（する） from contents 見解（をとる）.) ANYWAY... after HOURS of "fun"... not helped by some of my computers 存在 in one of those moods, 含むing the death of a CD 運動... at 10am, 24 May, 2005, I ran MY program, clicked "Connect", ticked a few "turn this one on" boxes, clicked "令状 LED"... and the LEDs 答える／応じるd accordingly!! :-) :-) :-)
A couple of points about what you see in the picture:
The box ends underneath my 手渡す. It is about as long as it is wide.
The green thing is a pcb plugged into the box. It has LEDs and DIPs for the 8 bits of 数字表示式の 生産（高） and 8 bits of 数字表示式の input. It comes with the 装置, and it just plugs in, 関わりなく whether you have the "終点" or 25 way D connector ("Canon37F") 見解／翻訳／版 of the 装置.
Sharp 注目する，もくろむd readers will notice that the 事実上の LEDs do not agree with the real LEDs.... That's because the 事実上の LEDs are there to 報告（する）／憶測 what is 現在の on the 部隊s inputs. There are checkboxes on the 審査する. They 決定する which real LEDs are on or off.... so there would be no 推論する／理由 for the 事実上の and real LEDs to match.

You can download a scruffy 見解／翻訳／版 of the sourcecode if you like. REMEMBER: I said "scruffy"... this is not the way my code usually looks! If enough people email me, I will put some 成果／努力 into きれいにする up the code. If you email with comments which show you've given some of my shareware a try, I'll get to the code cleanup sooner!
Besides the with-sourcecode 見解／翻訳／版 of the HW group program, which you can download with the link in the previous paragraph, I am also 申し込む／申し出ing an 改善するd 見解／翻訳／版 of the same. The link will give you a zip とじ込み／提出する with the Delphi sourcecode, and a copy of the .exe "ready to run". In the 初めの, you had to click a button to send the 生産（高）s you had 指定するd, or read the 現在の 明言する／公表する of the inputs. My adaptation of HW group's program toggles the 生産（高）s as soon as you tick boxes, and can enter a 宙返り飛行 checking and rechecking the inputs several times a second.
You can interact with the 装置 at several levels. The 装置 comes with a 小型の-app which 許すs you to read the inputs, change the 生産（高）s, interact with the serial port. The app comes with sourcecode in Delphi, Borland C++, Visual Basic. You can also 支配（する）／統制する the 装置 経由で PHP. One of the strengths, I think, of the 製品 line is that the 製造業者 is willing to 株 詳細（に述べる）s of the programming and of the electronics, and 支援するs that 乗り気 up with online (and 供給（する）d on CD) documentation. Also... if you master one 装置 in the 製品 line, you will have made a start on interacting with most of the other 製品s 申し込む／申し出d by HW group.
MORE: The serial port:
Remember: I am new to this 装置... but "out of the box" this was possible...
I connected:
PC "A" <----by Ethernet ----> HW group's I/O 監査役 <---- by serial cable----> PC "B"
(The cable について言及するd above （機の）カム with the IOC. It is a simple "Laplink" type cable, to connect the serial ports of the IOC and PC B)
I used the Windows 装置 経営者／支配人 to 始める，決める PC B's serial port for 9600-8-N-1. (More below.) I then 解雇する／砲火／射撃d up the Charon （弁護士の）依頼人 ソフトウェア (供給（する）d with IOC, along with its sourcecode) in PC A, and Hyperterminal (comes 解放する／自由な with Windows) in PC B. What I typed on PC A now appeared on PC B, and 副／悪徳行為 versa!!
If it doesn't work first time for you, it is almost certainly because PC B and Hyperterminal are not 始める，決める up 権利. I have spent many 失望させるd hours getting serial comms to work. The systems seem to 嘘（をつく）. If in 疑問: Shut 負かす／撃墜する Hyperterminal. Check port config 経由で 装置 経営者／支配人 (勝利，勝つ 98: 権利 click My Computer | 所有物／資産／財産s | 装置 経営者／支配人.) 再開する Hyperterminal. Having Hyperterminal 自動車 configure may, or may not help.
"NVT", which appears on the Charon （弁護士の）依頼人 window, stands for "網状組織 事実上の 終点". I don't know what ticking the box about NVT echo does... yet!
I 設立する that when I sent info from PC B to PC A, it appeared on PC A one character at a time, starting a new line for each character, as 急速な／放蕩な as I typed it on PC B. 伝達／伝染 didn't wait for me to 圧力（をかける） the enter 重要な. This probably makes sense, and wasn't a problem with my WeatherDuck (more in a moment), but it seemed 半端物 at first. Don't be surprised when you see it happen.
So! The 事実上の serial port, i.e. a serial port "on" your PC, for all 意図s and 目的s... just ACTUALLY on the end of a 潜在的に very long wire connected to your PC WORKS... but what's it good for? (Remember: Where I have "Ethernet" in the diagram above, you might have a simple LAN... or you might be talking across the internet.)
Just to see if I could, I tried using a 装置 called a WeatherDuck 経由で the IOC. Worked first time!
The WeatherDuck is 2cm x 3.5cm x 9cm. It plugs into a serial port. Into it, you can plug a 1-Wire MicroLan... but that's a WHOLE 'nother story!! Even without the MicroLan, the WeatherDuck can tell you, on request...
* 気温 at the Duck
* 湿度
* Light level
* Airflow
Could you use the "airflow" sensor for 勝利，勝つd 速度(を上げる）? Not really.. it is ーするつもりであるd まず第一に／本来 for checking that a 冷静な／正味のing fan is working. It would also be good for 監視するing airflow in 軍隊d-空気／公表する HVAC systems.
The Weatherduck has two LEDs you can turn on or off.
Although I've never dared do too much with them, the WeatherDuck also has three 関係s for... believe it or not... 数字表示式の input OR 数字表示式の 生産（高） OR analog input. Not one of each. Each 関係 can be used for any of the three 職業s. Just don't mess up the 外部の electronics!
The only bad news is that this neat little 装置 doesn't come cheap. Why should it? I bought 地雷 when it was new, at an introductory price of $99. For several years now, a WeatherDuck has cost $199
Anyway... as I said, I plugged my WeatherDuck into the IOC (in place of "PC B"), used PC A to send "T" to the WeatherDuck, and 支援する （機の）カム the 気温! Remember: The IOC means that the WeatherDuck and the PC can be an internet apart. The WeatherDuck draws all the 力／強力にする it needs from the serial port.
A silly (but fun?) example:
The に引き続いて is meant more as light 救済 than as a serious idea... but maybe it will jog your grey 独房s into seeing which 職業s you need done can be done by the IOC. Also remember the Poseidon from HW group, if you need to sense 気温s. Although I'm using a WeatherDuck in what follows, you could do most of it with the IOC alone, and a few bits of simple electronics...
At a remote 場所／位置, in a room not blessed with much sunlight, 始める，決める up an IOC connected to the internet and to a （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する lamp and a WeatherDuck. Put the WetherDuck above the lamp.
With such a 始める，決める up, using just the Charon （弁護士の）依頼人 ソフトウェア from a PC somewhere else, you could....
Turn the lamp on and off.
CHECK that it 現実に HAD gone on or off by "looking" at the light and 気温 sensed by the WeatherDuck!
Oh 井戸／弁護士席.... maybe I do いつかs have too much time on my 手渡すs... but I 港／避難所't this week, what with getting all this put together for you. At least I didn't 現実に 始める，決める up my （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する lamp example!!
Be sure to read the documentation 供給するd by HW group. It is good. It also goes into the sort of 詳細（に述べる） that some 製造業者s 拒絶する／低下する to 株.
