Toolbars

What they are? Seeing the ones you want. Undocking. Resizing.
(What is here 適用するs to many apps)

Page URL: /parts/toolbars.htm

Toolbars have been with us for a long time now, and they are wonderful things... if you manage to be in 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金 of your toolbars.

In a classic 事例/患者 of "good news/ bad news", toolbars can be customized extensively... and can be messed up, if you aren't knowledgeable and careful.

((q-alt text for image))

The graphic above shows how (米)棚上げする/(英)提議するs come up in my Libre Office Base at the moment... except for the mauve 最高潮の場面ing, which I've 追加するd for this tutorial.

The bits on the mauve background are the "(米)棚上げする/(英)提議する data" toolbar 供給するd by Libre Office, for this window.

In many 事例/患者s, there are many different toolbars 利用できる for a window. When this is the 事例/患者, there is usually (as is the 事例/患者 here) a "toolbars" sub-menu under the "見解(をとる)" menu item for the window. You can have no toolbars showing, or one or many.

(Just to get it out of the way: Toolbars can often be customized, and I recommend that you use the 施設... with care, after you have become familiar with the app in its "基準" configuration. Too often people try to make apps do what they were 推定する/予想するing... and thus 行方不明になる out on Good Ideas that the app creators had.)

Un-ドッキングする/減らす/ドックに入れるing, and the good news/ bad news that comes with that

The toolbar shown above, is "ドッキングする/減らす/ドックに入れるd". That is, it is "tied up" to an 辛勝する/優位 of the window.

See the column of six small gray squares at the left 手渡す end of the toolbar? Hover your mouse pointer over them. The pointer should change to a cross with arrows, the "move" pointer.

Carefully drag the toolbar to the 中心 of the window.

When I say "drag", I mean the に引き続いて. Don't do it now! Read 負かす/撃墜する to "go 支援する", and then come 支援する here, and THEN do the に引き続いて...

(Sadly, Ctrl-z (which I am just about to explain) doesn't work to undo a toolbar move. Sorry! But I'd written all the に引き続いて before discovering that, and it stays! It IS useful, in general.) If it goes horribly wrong, as long as the first thing you do after 解放(する)ing the mouse button is to do a Ctrl-z, you may 井戸/弁護士席 find yourself 支援する to where you were before it went wrong. Doesn't always work, but always 価値(がある) a try! ("Do ctrl-z"? That means: 圧力(をかける) 負かす/撃墜する, 持つ/拘留する 負かす/撃墜する, 重要な labeled "Ctrl" on your keyboard. 圧力(をかける) and 解放(する) "z" 重要な. Wait a tiny moment. Then 解放(する) the "Ctrl" 重要な. (I say "wait" because there is something about our brains. It is 平易な to 解放(する) Ctrl before you have really finished 解放(する)ing the z, and if you do, all is lost.)

If you get an attack of "Oh no, I don't want this" while doing something with a mouse button held 負かす/撃墜する, the に引き続いて will save you: Don't move the mouse from the moment you decide things are wrong. Keep the mouse button 負かす/撃墜する. 圧力(をかける) and 解放(する) the 重要な 示すd "Esc" on your keyboard. Then 解放(する) the mouse button.

Okay! How Go 支援する, try moving the toolbar to the middle of the window by doing what I wrote.

((q-alt text for image))

Ta da! You have.... I hope!... "undocked" the toolbar.

Once it is undocked, you can re-size it, very like you can re-size windows 一般に.

If you drag it again, and drag it to the 辛勝する/優位 of the window, often an 輪郭(を描く) will pop up. 解放(する) the mouse button, and the toolbar will snap into the 輪郭(を描く). This is how you move a toolbar to, say, the 権利 手渡す 辛勝する/優位 of the window, how you "ドッキングする/減らす/ドックに入れる" it there.

When you are ready

When you have worked with an app a bit, got to know it, carefully selecting what toolbars are showing, where they are showing... and once you are ready for the "前進するd" stuff... 修正するing what is on the さまざまな 明白な toolbars will 大いに 改善する your 生産性 (and happiness!) with any 使用/適用 supporting this now 普及した 施設. Do, at least, customize the toolbars 現在の on your browser!!
