The page you're reading explains how to put 無線で通信する buttons on a form. This can be useful to help 使用者s enter only valid data. For instance, if your database is about people, and you want to 記録，記録的な／記録する the gender of each person, 無線で通信する buttons for "male" and "女性（の）" might be a good 解答. An 利益／興味ing question arrived with my email. In essence it asked...
How do I put 無線で通信する buttons on the data 入ること／参加（者） form of a database to keep 跡をつける of the 事例／患者 type of some computers?
For the sake of this example of an 面 of that, we are only going to have two fields.
The first: a unique identifier, a "serial number" if you like, for each PC.
The second field: 記録，記録的な／記録するs whether the computer is a laptop, of the "tower" type, or one of the older-style 水平の 厚板s.
The "tricky" bit we will 調査する in this tutorial is the use of 無線で通信する buttons to input the PC's 事例／患者 style.
From time to time, I revisit old pages I've published, and work through them as if I didn't know how to do what the page explains. I have done that with this page, using Windows XP and Open Office 見解／翻訳／版 3.2.1. What is here should work with any 地位，任命する- 見解／翻訳／版- 2 版 of Open Office, but it should work 正確に／まさに as 明言する／公表するd with OO 3.2.1

The "serial number" field will be of type text, and will be the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する's 最初の／主要な 重要な. It will be called "ID". In the real world, you'd do something clever in your ID assignments, but for the 目的s of the 演習, I'm just calling the different machines PC1, PC2, PC3, etc.
Building databases that work 井戸／弁護士席 is all about seeing that you have choices, seeing ALL of your choices, and making the 権利 choices.
As I was building the database, I foolishly called the second field "type". Happily, I hadn't done too much work yet, so just scrapped my first 試みる／企てる, and started again! (The word "type" has other, important, uses in database design work, so it is best to 避ける 追加するing another use of the same word into your work. The same is true of the words "事例／患者" and "form", which were my next 候補者s for the field's 指名する!)
I settled (結局) on "CaseShape" as the 指名する for the second field. By the way, I'm calling the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する CaseShapeTable.
I 始める，決める CaseShape up as a Tiny Integer type field.
I chose (remember what I said a moment ago about choices) to use 0, 1 , 2 or 3 as the values to stand for "unknown", "tower", "水平の" and "laptop" それぞれ. Lots of room for better choices here... but for now, を取り引きする these choices!
The Big Choice I made was to ALLOW the 使用者 to enter a code for "not yet entered". You could argue that for this 使用／適用 you might want to 軍隊 the 操作者 to put something in this field every time, something other than "unknown".
Another Big Choice made was that (for now) it will be possible to 追加する a line to the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する (i.e. put another computer in the database) without giving ANY answer to the "what 事例／患者 Style?" question.
Important General Point: In database work, there is a Big Difference between "nothing entered into this field of this 記録，記録的な／記録する (column of the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する, at this 列／漕ぐ／騒動)" and an 入ること／参加（者） that says "unknown".
We may 井戸／弁護士席 before we are done go 支援する and 改訂する the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する's specifications so that the 使用者 must AT LEAST put "0" (code for "unknown") into the CaseShape field whenever creating a 記録，記録的な／記録する for a 以前 unrecorded computer. And after that, we may choose to 除去する "0" as one of the 選択s.
Always start small, and build things up. But try to know where you are going before you take those first steps.
創造 of the database began with building the simple （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する "CaseShapeTable" 述べるd above.
To recap things I've already said: The database's only （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する has the に引き続いて fields....

I 始める，決める the "入ること／参加（者） 要求するd" 所有物／資産／財産 of the first field to "Yes". Enter PC01, PC02, etc (i.e. not PC1, PC2) for the first 9 PCs, and you won't have 半端物 sequences when you 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） the 記録，記録的な／記録するs by ID.
Once the (empty) （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する was in place, a form was started, using the Form Wizard. Answers to many of the wizard's questions were, I hope, obvious. To be on the 安全な 味方する, here are the choices I made, in an abbreviated 贈呈....
(The "DE" suffix signifies "Data 入ること／参加（者）")
So far so good... that "should" work... and it did in my Windows box... and 結局 it did on my Ubuntu box (Ubuntu 7.04/ ooBase 2.2.0... but that was a while ago... everyone should 昇格 to 見解／翻訳／版 3). You shouldn't, by now (October 2010) have to go to the lengths I went to, but if you are having trouble with any 面 of Open Office on an Ubuntu box, 特に with 事柄s of forms, see my tutorial on 直す／買収する，八百長をするing The Form Wizard. I was very new to Linux, and 支援する then, my Ubuntu box was only recently 始める，決める up.
ANYWAY... I then used the form to enter some data.
... but I had to enter the CaseShape data by 手渡す... not what I 手配中の，お尋ね者... but a start.
Now I will show you how I 取って代わるd the field for typing in the 事例／患者 形態／調整 code with 無線で通信する buttons to 遂行する the 入ること／参加（者） of the data for that field.
A 無線で通信する button is a "thing" that is either 負かす／撃墜する or up. You change its 明言する／公表する by clicking on it. The clever thing about 無線で通信する buttons is that only one of the 無線で通信する buttons in any group can be "負かす／撃墜する" at a time. Click on, say, button "2", and any other 無線で通信する button in its group which was 負かす／撃墜する pops up as soon as button "2" goes 負かす／撃墜する.

追加するd a "Group Box" 支配（する）／統制する to the form from the "More 支配（する）／統制するs" toolbar.

The "Group Box" 支配（する）／統制する is number 13 in the image... a square surrounded by a dotted line 含む／封じ込めるing two lines each consisting of ". _"
Group boxes define... groups! Remember we talked about only one 無線で通信する button in a group 存在 負かす／撃墜する at one time, a moment ago? The Group Box is how you define "groups" of 無線で通信する buttons (の中で other things).
From the "More 支配（する）／統制するs" palette, without doing anything to the 存在するing "事例／患者 形態／調整" label and text box, I clicked on "Group Box", and dragged one out on the form and went through the wizard that gave rise to....
指名するs for 選択s fields: Typed "水平の", 圧力（をかける）d enter; typed "Tower", 圧力（をかける）d enter; typed "Laptop", 圧力（をかける）d enter.
That 居住させるd the "選択s Fields" 覚え書き with all the values I 手配中の，お尋ね者, so I then clicked the "Next" button.
I then answered the next question "Should one... be... default" NO, and clicked Next.
The next 行う／開催する／段階 of the wizard, the one where "Field Values" appears in the dialog 肩書を与える, 割り当てるs the values that should be 割り当てるd to each 選択. ooBase had already 始める，決める things up the way I 手配中の，お尋ね者 them... but this wasn't すぐに obvious to me.
The window had an edit box on the left under "What value do you want to 割り当てる to each 選択?". (One could argue that this might be better labeled "What value do you want to 割り当てる to this 選択?".) The edit box is showing the value which will be 割り当てるd to the field if you click on the 無線で通信する button (which will be created in a moment) with the label shown by the 現在／一般に selected line in the "選択s Fields" 覚え書き at the 権利 手渡す 味方する of the window. When I clicked on the different possible values in the 覚え書き, the way the dialog worked became more （疑いを）晴らす to me.
You can change the contents of the edit box. Whatever is in the edit box will be what is "automatically typed" by clicking the 無線で通信する button which is 現在／一般に selected in the 覚え書き. To 始める，決める what is "automatically typed" when you click one of the OTHER 無線で通信する buttons, CHANGE which line is selected in the "選択 fields" 覚え書き, which can be done most 簡単に by clicking on a different one.
Work your way through all of the lines in the "選択 Fields" 覚え書き, filling in suitable values (in the edit box) for each of them. You can review the settings you've made 簡単に by once more clicking on each 選択 field in turn, looking at what comes up in the edit box.
A gotcha: Is is 完全に possible... but would be 完全に pointless... to 始める，決める the value for two or more 無線で通信する buttons to be the same value. Be sure you 港／避難所't done this by mistake.
Click Next.
In the next dialog, say that you want to save the value in the CaseShape database field. Click "Next".
Give the 選択 group box a caption. Something like "Choose 事例／患者 形態／調整". Click the "Finish" button.
Save the form and の近くに it, to 完全にする the editing. 公式文書，認める that at this time you will have two ways of setting the CaseShape field. It WILL work, remarkably enough.

You should find that you can enter new 記録，記録的な／記録するs, or edit old ones, using either the label + edit box the form wizard created, OR the 無線で通信する buttons in the 選択 group. If you click on one of the buttons, the value in the edit box will change すぐに. If you change what's in the edit box AND move to a different 支配（する）／統制する, the 無線で通信する buttons will be updated.
Be sure that you are entering new 記録，記録的な／記録するs... not just editing old ones... if that's what you are meaning to do. Changing "PC01" to "PC03" doesn't create a new 記録，記録的な／記録する! It 単に changes the ID of the old PC01 記録，記録的な／記録する to PC03. Use the 航海 妨げる／法廷，弁護士業 (or ctrl-alt 加える the left or 権利 arrow 重要なs) to move from 記録，記録的な／記録する to 記録，記録的な／記録する. If you "go past" the last 記録，記録的な／記録する in the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する, you will have a blank form into which you can type a new 記録，記録的な／記録する. Alternatively, use the "new 記録，記録的な／記録する" button-icon on the 航海 妨げる／法廷，弁護士業.
N.B.: If you open up a "raw" 見解（をとる） of the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する, to 監視する your success (or さもなければ, sigh) at entering 記録，記録的な／記録するs with your form, you need....
So far, so good!
(A little "gee whiz": The first time I made an 選択 group box, I was working quickly, not 文書ing the steps. I tried it again, typing this as I went a moment later... and was left with a form with THREE ways to change the value in the CaseShape field... and they coexisted やめる happily.)

Nearly there! We'd be done, in some circumstances. However, in this database (and 類似の ones), I think we want to say that you can't 追加する a 記録，記録的な／記録する unless you 示す a CaseShape. その上に, I'm not going to 許す the 使用者 to "cheat" with a "not know" (as …に反対するd to "nothing entered yet") 入ること／参加（者）.
Because I knew where I was going when I started developing this, 達成するing these last frills is 平易な. (Hmmm... "because I knew where I hoped I'd be able to go" might be more 正確な...)

Click on the CaseShape line. 負かす／撃墜する at the 底（に届く） of the window you'll see some 所有物／資産／財産s. Change "入ること／参加（者） 要求するd" to Yes. Put in "0" (無) for the default value... our code for "don't know". (See below regarding defaults). Save your changes, の近くに the window, 再開する the data 入ること／参加（者） form and see how 井戸／弁護士席 it 作品!
A Problem: some database designers would be unhappy with using the codes (0, 1, 2, 3 for "unknown", "tower", "水平の", "laptop") I can see their point... in some circumstances. If the codes are going to stay buried inside the system, I'm not TOO worried by their use. However, in this example, maybe it would have been better to code the "CaseShape" as a 選び出す／独身 character, and use u, t, h and l to stand for the different 形態／調整s.
Defaults: In the example, because of the nature of the work it was doing, I やめる deliberately 始める，決める things up so that an 操作者 would have to select tower, 水平の or laptop every time. I didn't make one of them the default, on the 仮定／引き受けること that the 操作者 would remember to change the value from the default when necessary. In a different 使用／適用, it might make sense to have a default value for some fields. Now, this can be done at the 行う／開催する／段階 when you are defining the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する. I 嫌疑者，容疑者／疑う that you will come to 悔いる doing that, more often than not.
There is a BIG difference between "no datum entered" and "unknown" when you are working with databases.
In the database just 述べるd, we have "cheated". No 記録，記録的な／記録する will be in a "no datum entered" 明言する／公表する, as far as the CaseShape field is 関心d... but to a 使用者 of our 無線で通信する button based form, there will appear to be 記録，記録的な／記録するs where 非，不，無 of the "認める to" values for CaseShape has been 割り当てるd for that computer. We've arranged things so that a "special" default (無) is 供給（する）d by the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する design, for instances where the 使用者 doesn't 明示する a CaseShape. This 許すd us to say "No" to the "Should one 選択... be... default?" question during the 選択s Group wizard; it 許すd us to 避ける setting one of the 選択s as the default for the field... while still 確実にするing that every field in every 記録，記録的な／記録する had something in it.
There will be times when you have "empty" (nothing entered yet) fields in some 記録，記録的な／記録するs in a database... but they can lead to problems, and it may be 同様に to 避ける the 状況／情勢.
It gets even more subtle... You can have a text field with nothing in it. That is different from a text field which hasn't has anything entered! But don't worry too much about these things! I 嫌疑者，容疑者／疑う you'll be able to を取り引きする the times they 事柄 as they arise... now that you are 警報d to the subtleties!
I dislike 'fancy' websites more 関心d with a flashy 外見 than for good content. For a pretty picture, I can go to an art gallery. Not everyone has 急速な／放蕩な broadband.
