This page is "browser friendly". Make your browser window as wide as you want it. The text will flow nicely for you. It is easier to read in a 狭くする window. With most browsers, 圧力（をかける）ing 加える, minus or 無 while the 支配（する）／統制する 重要な (ctrl) is held 負かす／撃墜する will change the texts size. (大きくする, 減ずる, 回復する to default, それぞれ.) This "How To" 試みる／企てるs to explain something that many people seem to want: A way to use lookups on forms. For the sake of illustrating both the question and the answer.....
Imagine a very small police 軍隊... let's say it is in 告発（する），告訴（する）／料金 of a island in the Caribbean.
It wants to keep 跡をつける of モーター 乗り物 出来事/事件s.
The 詳細（に述べる）s of the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議するs and the 関係s in the database for this 職業 are 含む／封じ込めるd in a separate webpage, which you せねばならない go off and read now, if you are not familiar with it. There's a link there for downloading the database, too.
What the 長，指導者 of Police wants from his IT person is a simple form so that when a person is 伴う／関わるd in an 出来事/事件, the 長，指導者 can quickly, easily, get a 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） of all the 出来事/事件s in which that person's been 伴う／関わるd. The 長，指導者 wants a form with two lookups... one for first 指名する, one for surname. If he selects "Jane" from all the firstnames on the island, the second lookup is re-居住させるd so that it only 持つ／拘留するs surnames for which there is a Jane. When he selects Doe (having 以前 selected "Jane"), he should see (in a datasheet on the form) all of the 出来事/事件s Jane has been 伴う／関わるd in. (We will assume that every car has only one owner.) (The "出来事/事件s" lookup isn't 達成するd until the second tutorial on this topic.)
Yes... the schema (design of （米）棚上げする／（英）提議するs and their forms) 述べるd on the other webpage is more コンビナート／複合体 than we need for our 即座の wants... at least those 明言する／公表するd so far. But it will serve us 井戸／弁護士席 as the basis of other database tutorials.
In this tutorial we will 結局最後にはーなる with a form which has two datasheets on it. One will 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） the firstnames which occur in the database, each firstname 存在 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）d only once. On selecting one of those, we will be rewarded with the second datasheet filling with the 十分な 指名するs of just the people with that firstname.
Our 見本 People （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する 持つ／拘留するs the に引き続いて 指名するs:
We'll do something simple, first... to make a start...
We're going to create something with two datasheets, even if, at first, it is imperfect.
We will create this with the form wizard. In a nutshell....
Step 1: Source: People （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する. Arrange for... People.FName and People.SName to be in the form. Move "FName" to the 権利 手渡す パネル盤 first In this step, and in step 3. Step 2: Invoke "追加する subform", "Based on 手動式の 選択" Step 3: Be sure you are selecting fields from the "People" （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する. and put the same fields as before on the subform Step 4: Put "Fname" both in the "First joined subform field" and in the "First joined main form field." Step 5: Datasheet for both form and sub-form Step 6: 始める，決める to 陳列する，発揮する all, but not 許す any modifications, 新規加入 or deletion. Step 7: Any style Step 8: Call it "Simple Selector"
That gives a "working" result we can 熟考する／考慮する. You may want to re-size the window to see both （米）棚上げする／（英）提議するs. You can do that (and adjust the size or placement of the 支配（する）／統制するs on the form) in the usual way whenever you have the form open in the design 方式, i.e. open for editing.
The 推論する／理由 we told the form wizard to disallow any changes to the data is that いつかs when your form isn't yet working 適切に, you can corrupt the data in the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する. In a "finished" database, you would of course 器具／実施する a way for 使用者s to change the data... but this form is for looking up data, not entering new data
Given our small universe of people, don't 行方不明になる the 魔法: The second worksheet fills with....

... if you select either "Jane" line in the first worksheet.

Already, the form looks more reasonable.... but in the first datasheet we have Jane twice and Jeremy twice... a little inelegant, don't you think? And, of course, we have all of the fields showing in both （米）棚上げする／（英）提議するs. The latter 問題／発行する is easily dealt with: Go into Design 方式, 権利 click the FName column 長，率いるing, click "削除する column".
We are also going to 直す／買収する，八百長をする the repeated 陳列する，発揮する of any duplicated first 指名するs. We're going to do it two ways. Both 要求する that you become aware of tricks for getting to parts of ooBase others いつかs never reach.
We're going to do it first by using a query to 居住させる the main form's MainForm_Grid. Then we're going to 改訂する our form to 陳列する，発揮する what we want (up to a point) without using a query.
Sadly, here we enter a section of this tutorial littered with little asides, explanations of 詳細（に述べる）s, etc, etc. Hang in there! Things soon get better.
First, before anything happens to it... Save your form "Simple Selector", and の近くに it. Make a copy of it called "SelectorByQuery", and open that for edit. (You make the copy as follows... Go to the ooBase main 事業／計画（する） 経営者／支配人 window. Click on "Forms" in the left 手渡す column. 権利 click on "Simple Selector", click "copy". 権利-click in the "Forms" pane. Click Paste, and edit the 指名する.)
Leave that open, but before we can do our form by a query, we need the query!
Go 支援する to the ooBase main 事業／計画（する） 経営者／支配人 window. Click on "Queries" in the left 手渡す column. Click on "Create Query in SQL 見解（をとる）. Enter....
select 際立った "FName" as "FName" from "People"
... in the disconcertingly empty window that opens. (The SQL 命令（する） "際立った" does the 魔法 here.) (The 指名するs of fields and of （米）棚上げする／（英）提議するs are 事例／患者 極度の慎重さを要する. The SQL reserved words... "select", "際立った", "as", "from", may be entered in wHAt Ever caSE You WAnt... but I would 示唆する using lower 事例／患者.
IMPORTANT THING: (I spent about two and a half hours finding out about this...)
IF YOU WANT THE QUERY to work for what we want it for, you must be sure that the system will run the SQL "直接／まっすぐに". (You can change the setting later, if you mess up. But the setting has to be 権利 before the query will do what we want it to.)
There's an 入ること／参加（者） in the query designer's "Edit" sub-menu to "始める，決める" (or "unset") this 行為. You want the "button" 負かす／撃墜する. The image below shows both the menu 入ること／参加（者）, and the "button" in the 要求するd 明言する／公表する, at "A". (I'll explain the "SQL" at "B" in a moment.)
The "SQL" button at "B", which you turn on and off with "見解（をとる） | Toolbars | SQL", is, OpenOffice 3.5.1, running under Windows 7, to my way of thinking a little flaky. It does "work"... just not as I would 推定する／予想する it to. It is an 代案／選択肢 to the setting 機械装置 示すd "A". If you click on it, it does turn "Run SQL 直接／まっすぐに" on and off... but you can only see the result of your click after you move your mouse pointer away from it. (When you click on the button when it is 負かす／撃墜する, it doesn't show that it is now up until you move the mouse away from it.
What is this "run 直接／まっすぐに"? I believe it bypasses some checks or code which Open Office would use, and passes our SQL on 不変の. This is BAD, because some checks are skipped... but it is GOOD because it 許すs us to use parts of SQL... a "big" （独立の）存在... which Open Office has not (yet) 会社にする／組み込むd into everything it does for us. (I believe the SQL 重要な word "際立った" is the 推論する／理由 we need to have the system run our SQL 直接／まっすぐに.)
(While "Run SQL 直接／まっすぐに" is invoked, you cannot use the Open Office "design 見解（をとる）".)

got itself 追加するd to that. I'm not sure when, or how, nor whether it 事柄s! Sorry. But I thought I'd at least について言及する it so that if you notice when looking at the downloadable 見解／翻訳／版, you would know. I'd be inclined to put it in... but while that may "直す／買収する，八百長をする" the things I was looking at when I discovered it, it may "break" things I didn't check. Let me know what you discover!) (While you are at it... see if you can 人物／姿／数字 out why when I had two "同一の" 見解／翻訳／版s of this database 味方する by 味方する on my 審査する, I could get that change to "stick" in one... but not in the other!! It may be connected with my difficulties in some circumstances with making my choice for "分析する SQL 命令（する）" (yes or no) to "stick" in the Data tab for the Form 所有物／資産／財産s of the query based form we are discussing here.)
The "Run Query" 道具 (Green tick) will 追加する a preview pane to the window. (If you've entered valid SQL!) You should see a 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） of the FNames, but without duplications.
I'm afraid that the ooBase query wizard can't give you "コンビナート／複合体" queries such as the one we've done with "際立った". You can use it to "rough out" a query, and then invoke "Edit in SQL 見解（をとる）, if you wish.
Now go 支援する to the edit window for your form "SelectByQuery".
(We are done with annoying digressions into important 詳細（に述べる）s, I'm pleased to say.)
Open the form 航海士. (There's a button for it, probably on the 底（に届く） 辛勝する／優位 of your 審査する.... As long has you have 見解（をとる） | Toolbars | Form Design ticked. Don't 混乱させる the form 航海士 with the more general "航海士". (I have a short introduction to the form 航海士 for you.)
In the form 航海士, 権利-click on MainForm, then on 所有物／資産／財産s. Click on the Data tab.
Change Content Type to Query. Make Content "DistinctFNames", using the 減少（する）-負かす／撃墜する 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）, and run your form... you should see the first 指名するs (without repeats) in the first data sheet, and the second should 陳列する，発揮する all people with whatever first 指名する you select. Select Jane or Jeremy, and you see 多重の individuals, if you have 居住させるd your （米）棚上げする／（英）提議するs as I 示唆するd.
Ta! Da! We did it (the first way.) Have you been into raw SQL before? The wizards take care of lots of things.... but raw SQL lets you do more.
Tidy up by の近くにing everything but the ooBase main 事業／計画（する） 経営者／支配人 window.
Select Forms in the left 手渡す パネル盤 again, and copy SimplSelector to SelectWithInternalSQL, as you copied SimpleSelector to SelectByQuery a moment ago.
Open that for edit.
Change the Content Type 入ること／参加（者） on the MainForm's "Data" tab to "SQL 命令（する）". Make the Content....
Select 際立った "FName" as "FName" from "People"
... and run your form. You should again see the first 指名するs (without repeats) in the first data sheet, and the second should 陳列する，発揮する all people with whatever first 指名する you select. Select Jane or Jeremy, and you see 多重の individuals, if you have 居住させるd your （米）棚上げする／（英）提議するs as I 示唆するd.
Ta! Da! We did it again... a more elegant way.
BUT.... (could nothing be simple??? for THIS approach to work, it is 決定的な that "Run SQL 直接／まっすぐに" is not invoked! And making the setting may 原因（となる） you to 涙／ほころび your hair, because a few things "interlock".
Get yourself to the Data tab of the MainForm 所有物／資産／財産s. After you have 始める，決める "Content type" to "SQL 命令（する）" you will be able to enter text in the "Content" box just below the "Content type" box. It may be easier, and you may need to do it in a moment anyway, just to click the "..." to the 権利 of the "Content" box.
That will take you to an editor for the Content.
The syntax 最高潮の場面ing 申し込む／申し出d by the SQL 命令（する） design window is one 推論する／理由 to use it, rather than typing 直接／まっすぐに into the "Content" box. (If, for instance, you forget the 引用するs 示すs ("fieldname") around a fieldname, for instance, the color may 警報 you. Ditto if you mis-（一定の）期間 a SQL 重要な word.
In 新規加入, you will have 接近 to the two ways discussed above for changing the setting of the "Run SQL 直接／まっすぐに" 選択....
As long as you're not in the Open Office "Design 見解（をとる）"... in which 事例／患者 the ways to change the "Run SQL 直接／まっすぐに" will be absent or grayed out.
Remember the 半端物 新たな展開. (At least if your query has "際立った" in it.) Using an 外部の query? Turn "Run SQL 直接／まっすぐに" ON. Using a line of SQL embedded in the form's 所有物／資産／財産s? Turn "Run SQL 直接／まっすぐに" OFF.

That seems to be enough for this tutorial. In the next tutorial, we will look at a 類似の form, but using 減少（する）-負かす／撃墜する 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）s instead of datasheets to 陳列する，発揮する the 指名するs. We will 追加する a datasheet 陳列する，発揮するing the 出来事/事件s a selected person have been 伴う／関わるd with.
I dislike 'fancy' websites with more 関心 for a flashy 外見 than for good content. For a pretty picture, I can go to an art gallery. Of course, an attractive 場所／位置 WITH content deserves 賞賛する... as long as that pretty 直面する doesn't cost download time. In any 事例／患者....
