At the heart of a database is at least one （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する. 公式文書，認める: "The database" is more than the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する(s)... but the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議するs are the heart.
A （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する consists of 列／漕ぐ／騒動s and columns.
The 列／漕ぐ／騒動s: Each 列／漕ぐ／騒動 is a "記録，記録的な／記録する" (database 称する，呼ぶ／期間／用語), with data about an （独立の）存在. A 記録，記録的な／記録する in a simple telephone numbers database might consist of the number and the 指名する of the person you reach if you phone that telephone number.
The columns: For each 記録，記録的な／記録する, there is at least 準備／条項 to 蓄える／店 different bits of data, and what data can be 蓄える／店d is 一貫した for every 記録，記録的な／記録する. In the simple telephone numbers （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する there would be a column for the number, and a column for the 指名する. The database 称する，呼ぶ／期間／用語 for the "things" of which the 記録，記録的な／記録する is made up is "field". We speak of, say, "the data in the 'person you reach' field."
If you are new to databases, you will 利益 from に引き続いて the simple 支配する which I will give in a moment. Later in this essay, I will...
In a moment, I'm going to be talking about "自動車 increment fields". They are neat: Without any 成果／努力 on the 使用者s part (once the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する is built!) these fields have something put in them, a different something every time.
The 支配する I'm about to give you is to get you started. As you become more proficient with databases, you will realize that 最初の／主要な 重要なs can be done other ways, can consist of other things. But until you understand all that, use my 支配する. Even if you don't want to follow my 支配する, do have some 肉親，親類d of 最初の／主要な 重要な for each （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する you make.
Every time you create a （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する, make the first field as follows. (If you use the wizard to create （米）棚上げする／（英）提議するs, help for you follows in a moment.) (Not every 所有物／資産／財産 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）d below is 利用できる until you have selected the 権利 field type.
If you use the wizard to create （米）棚上げする／（英）提議するs, then in step 1 choose a field (from those on 申し込む／申し出 for the 見本 you are building your （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する from) which will not be needed in your （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する. Then, in step 2 of the wizard, change the field's （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） to make it 適合する to the above specification. In step 3, elect to "Use an 存在するing field as 最初の／主要な 重要な." (And select PriKey, or whatever you called it.)
If you build the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する with "Create （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する in design 見解（をとる）..." (I'd recommend this, by the way), then....
That's almost it.
Before you save the new （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する, though, you need to 権利-click in the gray column to the left of "PriKey" in the first line of the datagrid. You should see "最初の／主要な 重要な" in the menu which pops up. Click on that. A little gold 重要な icon should now appear in the gray box. (The "this line is selected" green arrow will be there too, for the moment.)
Now save your new （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する, giving it a sensible 指名する along the way.
A simple 最初の／主要な 重要な, like the one above, will probably never be of any direct use.... to you.
However, 事実上 all databases will work better for you if the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議するs have 最初の／主要な 重要なs, and there are some things you may grow into wanting to do which cannot be done without a 最初の／主要な 重要な.
I used to worry about the "wasted" space taken up with that "useless" PriKey field. Of course, today's PCs are so 急速な／放蕩な, and have such 広大な disks, that one little field hardly 事柄s... but the 原則 still 事柄s.
If the data in your database has a field which will never be filled with the same value on any two lines, then that field can be the 最初の／主要な 重要な.
Suppose, for instance, that you cared about your health, and were doing a database 記録，記録的な／記録するing your 負わせる and 血 圧力.
If you are willing to decide that you will only take one reading per day. In that 事例／患者, your （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する could have "Date", "負わせる" and "血 圧力" fields, and the "Date" field could do 二塁打 義務, 存在 the 最初の／主要な 重要な 同様に as 持つ／拘留するing useful （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状）. (A 詳細（に述べる）: If you did this, there would not be any need to have data for every day. There can be gaps in the sequence of values in the 最初の／主要な 重要な field.)
The 最初の／主要な 重要な field does not have to be called "PriKey", nor does it have to be of type "Integer".
最初の／主要な 重要なs often are made of type "Integer" because you can 始める，決める integer fields to be 自動車 incrementing. And if the contents of the field "don't 事柄" to you, you won't be caught out by something 暗示するd in the に引き続いて paragraph.
To 強調する something I said above: When you 指定する a field as the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する's 最初の／主要な 重要な, you are creating a 状況／情勢 in which you will not be 許すd to create two 記録，記録的な／記録するs with the same data in that field. This can be a nuisance, (if you failed to 心配する a need) but at least ooBase 保護するs you from accidentally entering a 非，不，無-unique value in a 最初の／主要な 重要な field.
You are supposed to be able to 追加する new fields, even 最初の／主要な 重要な fields, to a （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する after they have already been in use for a while.
From things I see at oooForum.org, and from personal experience, it seems that this doesn't always go によれば 計画（する）. Don't be alarmed or depressed if you have trouble. いつかs it isn't too hard just to make a new （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する, made the way the first one should have been made!
So! There you have it. When you make a （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する, give it a 最初の／主要な 重要な. If you're not too sure about these "最初の／主要な 重要な" things, then call it PriKey, make it an 自動車-incrementing integer.
