You may find that the database 存在 shipped with OpenOffice (ver.2 and higher) delights you as much as it has me. This page tries to help you use it.

This page is "browser friendly". Make your browser window as wide as you want it. The text will flow nicely for you. It is easier to read in a 狭くする window. You will learn how to make a small database with images. In the tutorial they are photos, but they could also be diagrams, 製図／抽選, etc. This isn't a very 需要・要求するing tutorial. But it does show you the "tricks" of something that has many uses. It is a sequel to another tutorial I have put on the web for you which 演説（する）／住所s the same question... but solves it a different way! It would be best to read that tutorial first, even if you only skim through it.
特に, we will create a database with pictures of some North American birds. (The photos are 供給するd for you.) Each 記録，記録的な／記録する will consist 簡単に of an 索引 number, the bird's 指名する, and the 指名する of the とじ込み／提出する 持つ／拘留するing the bird's photo.
The tutorial will show you how to get the image to 陳列する，発揮する on your form, even though the image isn't held inside the database. This tutorial also gives you some help with 詳細（に述べる）s of creating and editing form designs, but the other tutorial gave more help.
And at the end, we will 簡潔に visit 生成するing 報告（する）／憶測s with graphics, using the Oracle 報告（する）／憶測 建設業者, 以前 known as the Sun 報告（する）／憶測 建設業者, or SRB.
Before we delve into the tutorial, I would like again to thank the contributors to the ooBase 会議 at OOoForum. They showed me how to do images the "embedded" way, and the "by paths" way.
You can download a 見解／翻訳／版 of the first database 述べるd here. It comes in a .zip folder, 完全にする with the .bmp とじ込み／提出するs the database uses. The downloadable 見解／翻訳／版 gives you the database 始める，決める up with the image とじ込み／提出するs separate from the database, but still in the same folder. You can also 蓄える／店 the images どこかよそで, even on a CD, for instance. To have the image とじ込み／提出するs in a different folder, you need to change the 入ること／参加（者）s in the PathToBirdsPicture field of the underlying （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する... but 指示／教授／教育s are given, and you will have already downloaded the images you need. You'll just have to move them to a different folder to 実験（する） the 指示／教授／教育s for databases with "remote" images.
(This caveat is also 含むd at the start of fdb1imag. If you've read it there, feel 解放する／自由な to skip 負かす／撃墜する to the "Heart of the Story".)
Of all the tutorials I have 地位，任命するd about ooBase, I would say that in the year up to October 2010 perhaps the ones that give rise to the most correspondence are those about using images in databases.
ooBase has been stable and reliable in its 核心 features for many years now, in my experience and opinion.
Having said that, I must 譲歩する... and celebrate!... that it is a continually 発展させるing 製品. Unlike 確かな 製品 line developers, which try to give everything to everyone, from time to time the Open Office 製品 team take hard 決定／判定勝ち（する）s and re-work elements of the design. When this happens, the way some things work いつかs changes. The 代案／選択肢 is ソフトウェア that gets more and more bloated, and more and more unreliable. (The changes tend to be on the fringes, but when it is a "fringe" you were using, it is tiresome.)
It would seem that the way images are managed with ooBase has been one area where changes have been みなすd necessary. I hope you will find my tutorials, even the ones on images, useful... but I must 収容する／認める that in October 2010, there seems to have been 声明s here that weren't やめる 権利 for the 現在の ooBase! But they've been 直す／買収する，八百長をするd!! I would encourage you to "go for" Open Office 昇格s almost as soon as they become 利用できる. Don't do one just before needing your system for something important.... 昇格s are always somewhat risky... but on the whole, I've 設立する that Open Office 昇格s go 滑らかに, and bring welcome enhancements.
One other little point about graphics and ooBase: I often get people 令状ing to ask "How do I embed the graphics within the database?" It can be done, but, except for some special 事例／患者s, I think it is a Bad Idea. (See my tutorial, if you think you want to do it.) Those special 事例／患者s would be times when there are not very many graphics to embed, and when they can be small とじ込み／提出するs.
On 12 Oct 2010, using ooBase 3.2.1, I went through the に引き続いて 指示／教授／教育s. They worked! For the little bit at the end about 報告（する）／憶測s with images, I used ORB 1.2.1 (ORB: "Oracle 報告（する）／憶測 建設業者", the 交替／補充 for the SRB.)
Create a new database. Put it in it's own folder, call the folder whatever you like, and the database "BirdsWImagesByPath". (That's a bit long-winded. Oh 井戸／弁護士席. Most of the 指名するs I've 示唆するd could be different, if you feel 堅固に about it.) The 指名する （機の）カム from "BirdsW(ith)Images". It doesn't need to be 登録（する）d, but 登録（する）ing it is probably a good idea, as it "costs" so little. (I did 登録（する） the database when I was 実験（する）ing these 指示／教授／教育s.)
始める，決める up a （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する. ("Create in Design 見解（をとる）" would probably be best, but the finished result doesn't carry any "署名" of which 道具 you used.)
Fields:
索引 (Integer:INTEGER, Autovalue=yes, 最初の／主要な 重要な) PathToBirdsPicture (Text:VARCHAR, length 30) 指名する (Text:VARCHAR, length 30)

Save the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する as BirdsWImagesBPT1. (The 指名するs don't have to be unique, but I like to fight ambiguity. The "BP" part is for By Paths.)
I'll give you 見本 data in a moment. Just create the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する for now.
The techniques explained in this tutorial 許す you to 蓄える／店 photos of whatever you want. For the sake of the tutorial, I have made a collection of photos of some birds 利用できる. (You may make whatever use you wish of those photos, except a use that 制限するs anyone else from doing the same. I 主張する 所有権 of their copyright. Don't get too excited... they're not good photos!)(You can 接近 a 広大な library of 王族-解放する／自由な images online at a sister 事業／計画（する） of Wikipedia, by the way.)

Once you have downloaded the 古記録, put it in the folder you created earlier, BirdsWImagesByPath. Unzip the images into that folder. The 古記録 is self 抽出するing... you only need to 二塁打-click on it. The unzipper will start up, and ask you where (what folder) to 蓄える／店 the images. It puts 10 small .bmp とじ込み／提出するs in that folder. Each one is 指名するd for the bird shown in the とじ込み／提出する. Each is about 200k. (That's probably bigger than it needs to be.)
In the other tutorial, I told you that once the database was built, you would no longer need the .bmp とじ込み／提出するs. And that was true. When the database was built as we built the other one, when we were done, the images were inside the database, an integral part of it.
Not So This Time.
This time, we only 蓄える／店 in the database （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） about WHERE the .bmp image is! This approach has プロの／賛成のs and 反対／詐欺s, which are left as an 演習 for the student.
始める，決める up a simple data 入ること／参加（者） form, using the Wizard....
Step 1: You only have one （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する, and no queries, so the only thing you need to know is that you select just PathToBirdsPicture and 指名する. The 平易な way to do this is to click the ">>" and then select the 索引 field and send it 支援する to the "利用できる fields" 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）.
Step 2: There's no need for any subforms. Click Next, which will take us straight to step 5.
Step 5: Arrange the 支配（する）／統制するs as a "Data Sheet". This will make the form look almost like the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する it relates to. Click Next.
Step 6: Leave the tick in 前線 of "The form is to 陳列する，発揮する all data". Do not tick "The form is to be used for entering..." Do not click on any of the "Do not 許す...." boxes. Click Next.
Step 7: Play with these settings if you wish... but it isn't necessary. Click Next.
Step 8: 指名する the form "BirdsWImagesBPF1" (You'll probably 単に have to change the penultimate character), leave "Work with the form" selected, and click "Finish".
Enter the に引き続いて data. You may want to adjust the widths of the columns first. 公式文書，認める that the とじ込み／提出する 指名するs, in the "PathTo..." field,Mallard may be 事例／患者 極度の慎重さを要する.

That's enough to 実験（する） things with. You can leave the form open for その上の use later, or の近くに it if you prefer a tidy "desk".
Now we'll make a form which 陳列する，発揮するs the image of whatever bird you choose.
Use the Form Wizard to get things started....
Step 1: Put the PathToBirdsPicture and 指名する fields on the form.
Step 2: No sub-form. (You will skip steps 3 and 4)
Step 5: Data Sheet for layout.
Step 6: Defaults. ("陳列する，発揮する all.." / 許す all changes)
Step 7: Whatever.
Step 8: Call it WithImage
... and don't 推定する／予想する it to be working... yet.
の近くに the form, then re-open it in the editing 方式.
(Re-size the data sheet, making it something more sensible.)
You need the "More 支配（する）／統制するs" palette. You get this from the "Form 支配（する）／統制するs" toolbar. (If you need help, see my "指名するing of Parts" page about the two toolbars. It will open in a new tab or window.)
Use the "More 支配（する）／統制するs" palette 追加する an "Image 支配（する）／統制する" (not "Image Button") to your form, in some area not already 存在 used for the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する 支配（する）／統制する which is already on the form. Drag the Image 支配（する）／統制する out to 概略で 4cm x 4cm.
二塁打 click on it (still in edit, or "design" 方式), and you should get the 支配（する）／統制する's 所有物／資産／財産s.
On the "data" tab, use the "Data Field" 所有物／資産／財産 to "connect" the 支配（する）／統制する to the PathToBirdsPicture field of the .
On the "general" tab, be sure that "規模" is 始める，決める to "Keep 割合". (This 選択 was 追加するd in ooBase's 見解／翻訳／版 3.1, and very welcome it is, too!)
Run the form, i.e. click the "Design 方式 On/ Off" button to leave the "design" 方式, move to the "run" 方式. You should now see 権利 graphic for any 記録，記録的な／記録する in the data sheet.
Hmmm... I had all that working just 罰金, first time. I then "got clever", and tried changing "Mallard.bmp" to "mallard.bmp", while both forms were open. (It didn't seem to 事柄... to a Windows machine. A Linux machine might be いっそう少なく sloppy.) I also 攻撃する，衝突する さまざまな "refresh" buttons along the way... and somehow "broke" it... but that only happened once, and I did plenty to "混乱させる" things. Bah!
It was やめる simple to 直す／買収する，八百長をする... I just had to go 支援する to the image 支配（する）／統制する's 所有物／資産／財産s, and re-明示する that the image's data should come from the PathToBirdsPicture field. Sigh.

A minor tidy: You really don't need to see the text of the PathToBirdsPicture in the data sheet, do you? I 含むd it on the first pass through this, just to keep you 安心させるd.
You could have done everything as above, except in step 1 left out PathToBirdsPicture from the fields in the data sheet. The form would have worked because the form's MainForm (混乱させるing, that... two uses of the word "form". Beware.) is tied to the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する, and thus all its fields are 利用できる).
If you want to 直す／買収する，八百長をする that in our 存在するing form, you can 簡単に 権利 click on the PathToBirdsPicture column of the data sheet and select "削除する column".

In a moment, I'll show you how to create a わずかに different 陳列する，発揮する form. First a 警告: If you "play" with the に引き続いて before making the "指名する" field (in our new form) "read only", you can "損失" the data in the underlying （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する. If you start getting strange results, use your BirdsWImagesF1 form to look at what is in the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する. If it has been corrupted, save and の近くに the 陳列する，発揮する form you are working on, 修理 the data, then 再開する editing the 陳列する，発揮する form.
の近くに whatever's open, except the main ooBase main 事業／計画（する） 経営者／支配人 window. 開始する，打ち上げる the "new form" wizard again
Step 1: Just 指名する
Step 2: No subform
Step 5: "Columnar, Label on 最高の，を越す"
Step 6: As before, defaults.
Step 8: 指名する this form "DisplayByBar".
の近くに the resulting form, re-open for edit, i.e. in design 方式.
追加する image 支配（する）／統制する; connect it to PathToBirdsPicture.
追加する 航海 妨げる／法廷，弁護士業. (It is the last item on the "More 支配（する）／統制するs" palette.)
Use the form 航海士 to select JUST the txtName text box. (You can also get to it by 権利-clicking on it, and electing to ungroup it and its label.) (If you are not familiar with the form 航海士, I have an introduction to form 航海士 for you.)
Change its Read Only 所有物／資産／財産 to "yes".
That should give you something that 許すs you to use the "今後", "Backward", etc, buttons and fields of the 航海 妨げる／法廷，弁護士業 to move through the database. You will no longer be able 最高の，を越す 接近 the 記録，記録的な／記録するs by the bird's 指名する, though, although you will be told the 指名する still.
For the 目的s of this 陳列する，発揮する form, you probably would want to 始める，決める the 航海 妨げる／法廷，弁護士業's "事実上の／代理 on 記録，記録的な／記録する" 所有物／資産／財産 to "hide". (And maybe others.)
In this tutorial, we have worked with images in the same folder as the database. Can you have the photos どこかよそで? Yes.... I believe you can. For instance, if you had them on a CD, and you knew that any system the database was going to run on would 言及する to the CD 運動 as "D:", then you could, say, put something 類似の to "D:\crow.bmp" in the PathToBirdsPicture field and get the 願望（する）d result.... 詳細（に述べる）s are as follows....
I was using Windows XP and Open Office 3.2.1.
I started by creating a new folder in the root of my C: 運動. I called it "birds", and put copies of all of the .bmp とじ込み／提出するs we used before there.
I then did everything I did before, the same way... except: In the （米）棚上げする／（英）提議する "BirdsWImagesBPT1", in the field "PathToBirdsPicture", I put things like....

By the way... ever since Windows introduced "My 文書s", etc, I have 設立する paths a nightmare for programming work. If anyone can tell me a reliable way to 言及する to the "My 文書s", I'd love to hear from you.
You can also build 報告（する）／憶測s which draw images into the 生産（高）, using just the path to the image from your database! I believe this needs OO 3.2 and perhaps ORB 1.2.1. ("ORB" is Oracle 報告（する）／憶測 建設業者, which 取って代わるd the Sun 報告（する）／憶測 建設業者.) I'll put 詳細（に述べる）s here soon.
Here's a quick rough idea. We're just going to print out all the 記録，記録的な／記録するs, showing the bird's 指名する, and what it looks like.
Use the Wizard to get the first 草案 of the 報告（する）／憶測.
Step 1: Field 選択: You want the "指名する" and "PathToBirdsPicture" fields.
Step 2: Defaults are 罰金.
Step 3: Don't invoke any 配合.
Step 4: Sort 選択s: Might 同様に be tidy, and sort by 指名する.
Step 5: Layout: Columnar, two columns. Page orientation: Portrait.
Step 6: Change the penultimate letter in 肩書を与える to an "R", making it "BirdsWImagesBPR1". Leave the 肉親，親類d as "Dynamic". (Static is for "one off" 報告（する）／憶測s.) And elect "修正する 報告（する）／憶測 Layout".
Click "Finish", and the 報告（する）／憶測 should open in the design 見解（をとる）.
Drag the 底（に届く） 辛勝する／優位 of the "詳細（に述べる）" 禁止（する）d 負かす／撃墜する until the 禁止（する）d is about 5cm high.
The 報告（する）／憶測 支配（する）／統制するs toolbar 申し込む／申し出s a "Graphic" 支配（する）／統制する. 追加する one to the 報告（する）／憶測's "詳細（に述べる）" 禁止（する）d.
二塁打 click on the 支配（する）／統制する to 接近 its 所有物／資産／財産s. On the "Data" tab, elect...
On the 支配（する）／統制する's "General" tab, leave most things in their default 明言する／公表するs... their default 明言する／公表するs after you have 始める，決める the 所有物／資産／財産s entered 経由で the "Data" tab. Those 入ること／参加（者）s will change which fields are enabled on the "General" tab. 始める，決める "規模" to "Keep 割合".
Arrange and re-size things so that they are mostly to the left of the パネル盤, and pretty 井戸／弁護士席 fill the 高さ of the "詳細（に述べる）" 禁止（する）d.
Don't be alarmed when you click "遂行する／発効させる 報告（する）／憶測" and get a 報告（する）／憶測 with jut the 指名する of the 要求するd images showing in 輪郭（を描く）s 示すing where the images will go.
Click "Page Preview", and you can see the page(s) with the images, instead of 単に with image placeholders. You will also see the image if you print the page, or if you 輸出（する） it to a .pdf とじ込み／提出する, so all is 井戸／弁護士席, is it not?
Hurrah!!
(If the text about the "PathToBirdsPicture" which is 現在／一般に part of the 報告（する）／憶測 感情を害する／違反するs you, you can 削除する it from the 報告（する）／憶測's design.)

I dislike 'fancy' websites with more 関心 for a flashy 外見 than for good content. For a pretty picture, I can go to an art gallery. Of course, an attractive 場所／位置 WITH content deserves 賞賛する... as long as that pretty 直面する doesn't cost download time. In any 事例／患者....
