This is important and you can help.

There is at 現在の a public call in フラン for comments on a 提案するd 言及／関連 始める，決める that would 保証（人） interoperability for 文書s throughout the 政府. [0] The idea here as どこかよそで is to 促進する open 基準s and stop the waste proprietary 判型s 課す. The OpenDocument 判型 (ODF), which is now 予定するd to be an ISO 基準 and is already an OASIS 基準, has been 提案するd as the 文書 基準 by the French 団体／死体. [1] But it is by *no means* a sure thing.

How can you help?

By commenting in the public space 供給するd and by 令状ing about it in blogs, articles, letters--anywhere that is public. We need people who are 伴う／関わるd in 促進するing the ODF, which OpenOffice.org uses, to help publicize the importance of the French public 部門 using an already 認可するd open 基準 like ODF and the 解放する／自由な (gratis and open source) 実施 in which it is embedded, OpenOffice.org. Massachusetts' 決定／判定勝ち（する） to use ODF has galvanized the US and much of the world but in many ways this is just as important--and consequences even greater.

It is important because an open 基準--one 認可するd by impartial 団体／死体s and also 器具／実施するd by many 使用／適用s--除去するs vendor lock in and gives the 使用者 real freedom.

And it is その上の important to consider that the ODF is natively supported by at least one 控訴, OpenOffice.org: cost is no 障壁 to its use.

African localisation 勝利，勝つs at Stockholm

A little-known African localisation 事業／計画（する）d called KiLinux, which translated open source office 控訴 OpenOffice.org into Swahili, scooped an award under the Education 部類.

Native OpenOffice.org in Nexenta OS

Alberto Escudero 発表するd the 解放（する） and 統合，差別撤廃 of a native OpenOffice.org 2.0 in NexentaOS (alpha5) on his blog on May 16.

Acceralate FreeBSD/AMD64 Port

Good news from FreeBSD OpenOffice.org porting team!

Maho Nakata's 地位，任命する to dev/AT/porting.openoffice.org on May 18th told us some 広大な／多数の／重要な 開発s on FreeBSD/AMD64 porting 成果／努力s.

One is that Carlos Eduardo dontated a FreeBSD/AMD64 接近 for him.

"Hope it acceralates FreeBSD/amd64 port of OpenOffice.org. 抱擁する inputs from OOo community esp. kendy for porting OOo to GNU/Linux amd64 make this tremendously easier," maho said.

Another one, "OOo+FreeBSD/AMD64 現在の status," is that Jung-uk Kim submitted a 完全にする patch(es) to 収集する OOo for FreeBSD/amd64.

"We are now doing 徹底的な 調査s, and I'll create a cws for it. Some parts of patches had already been committed to ports cvs repo, but not yet 完全にする," maho said.

OpenDocument 判型 now an ISO 26300 基準
