When your
organization is migrating from Microsoft Office to LibreOffice its
important that you 供給する the 使用者s with some good and 強健な
templates. If your 使用者s are using LibreOffice in 平行の with
Microsoft Word or if your 使用者s are 共同製作 with other 使用者s
outside the organization, then your templates must take this into
consideration. The templates must in this 事例/患者 be extra 強健な when
it comes to interoperability.
Why not just open
your old .DOT or .DOTX templates in LibreOffice and save the result
at .OTT?
井戸/弁護士席 this is 正確に/まさに
one of the most ありふれた mistakes. Making templates for Writer is NOT
変えるing Word templates. Its building new templates from scratch
using the best 道具 for it: LibreOffice. If you choose the short 削減(する)
and 変えるs Word templates to LibreOffice templates, you will get
into trouble. Big trouble.
Experience show that
欠如(する) of interoperability often comes 負かす/撃墜する to poor 質 templates.
Another advise:
Don't try to make LibreOffice look like Word and don't try to make
your templates look like Word templates. You can't fool the 使用者s.
If you are the
専門家 in Word you might not be the 権利 person to develop
LibreOffice templates. Use LibreOffice as LibreOffice and don't
pretend its Word.
Before you begin
Try to work smart -
not hard. 分析する the 存在するing Word templates into 部類s of
論理(学)上 connected templates. Does any of the templates have ありふれた
所有物/資産/財産s? Identify the ありふれたs and put the templates into
部類s or “families”. For examples if you have several letter
templates with different content or in different languages, they are
most likely using the same font types and sizes. Identify these
ありふれた 所有物/資産/財産s and take 公式文書,認めるs.
Also try to get your
手渡すs on the company design 戦略 or design 指導基準s if they
存在する. Large organizations often have something in the communication
department. Best 事例/患者 is if you can find a design and style guide for
letter with 正確な 測定s and color 身元確認,身分証明.
Ask the provider of
the 初めの Word templates to also give you a PDF-見解/翻訳/版 of each
template. That give both you and the owner of the templates a
baseline 言及/関連 for the layout and you can 避ける later discussions
about pixel 正確な position of an 反対する somewhere. You can make the
言及/関連 PDF your self, but its better and more 訂正する if you can
get it from the owner of the templates.
Think of who the 使用者s are
Don't believe that
the IT department is qualified to define the 必要物/必要条件s. First of
all because this group of people in general has a higher
understanding of how IT 作品 and as a consequence of that are
現実に too high qualified. The 普通の/平均(する) 使用者 should be setting
必要物/必要条件 for the functionality while the department in 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金 of
communication (who ever they are) should 始める,決める 必要物/必要条件s for the
look and feel of the templates.
使用者s are different.
Some 使用者s are very 井戸/弁護士席 educated and has a master in text editing.
Others are just office clerks and has no idea of how text editing and
office automation 作品. Your templates should be possible to operate
by the people using them. Some templates can be very sophisticated
and with a high level of automation while others - letter templates
for example - should be as simple as possible to use.
Create the master
From there you can
create what I use to call the master template. This template will
現実に not be used by any one else than template developers and it
含む/封じ込めるs only the ありふれた styles and 測定s. Only what can be
defined in styles should be part of the master. In the 未来 when
you start creating new templates you can use the master template as
the template. And when you need to make 調整s to the ありふれた
所有物/資産/財産s, you can do it once in the master template and 負担 the
changes into all other templates.
Logo and 反対するs
Always try to get
the 初めの source とじ込み/提出するs in stead of trying to 選ぶ from the Word
templates. When you resize images - and even if you are using high
質 道具s for it - will loose 質. If possible you should get
the logos in some vector 判型 like SVG or a Photoshop source とじ込み/提出する.
Then you can 収集する image 見解/翻訳/版s in the exact size and 質
that you need. A logo 収集するd for the web 場所/位置 is 普通は
compressed and optimized for smaller とじ込み/提出する size and is not good enough
質 for a printed letter.
Interoperability
Making templates
that are interoperable with Word is not 平易な. It 要求するs a lot of
work and a lot of 実験(する)ing. And one thing you must remember, is the
fact that LibreOffice and Microsoft Office are two different
使用/適用s with two different とじ込み/提出する 判型s. 転換 between the
two are getting better for each 見解/翻訳/版 of LibreOffice, but its not
perfect and it will most likely never become perfect. 文書
転換 is therefore to be considered a deviation from the normal.
A special 状況/情勢 that should be taken special care of.
And 一連の会議、交渉/完成する trip
転換? Forget it. It doesn't work.
Cross 壇・綱領・公約 templates
LibreOffice is a
cross 壇・綱領・公約 使用/適用 and it is possible to develop templates
that 作品 on 多重の 壇・綱領・公約s. Most organizations has 政策s for
this, but its a good idea to take the 問題/発行する into consideration
anyway. It might turn out that there 現実に are a few Mac computers
even if the 政策 says the opposite. And it doesn't 要求する much
more than a thought now and then.
Cross 壇・綱領・公約
templates has in general higher 質 than templates that only
作品 on one 壇・綱領・公約.
The 窮地
Do we want the
LibreOffice templates to look pixel to pixel as the Word templates
does?
Most would say yes,
but I say no. I agree that it helps people to understand how it 作品
if it 作品 the same today than it did yesterday. But this pixel
正確な 必要物/必要条件 is a 誤解. For more than two 推論する/理由s.
First of all: Is our
Word templates as good as we think? Perhaps they are but they might
have been developed many years ago. So if we create new templates as
exact copies of the 存在するing ones we might 相続する some 遺産/遺物
誤解s and 欠如(する) of 質. So lets take the 適切な時期
to make even better, more modern and 強健な templates now we are
migrating. We might never get this 適切な時期 again.
One of the main
支配するs to remember while it comes to interoperability is, that the
more you customize the いっそう少なく interoperable the template will be. So
while you are trying to make them look 正確に/まさに equal, you will loose
the interoperability.
Try to stick to the
defaults.
An example:
Footnotes in Writer
looks pretty different from 類似の footnotes in Word. But they are
やめる 平易な to make interoperable if you leave them with the default
settings. You can though make footnotes in Writer look 正確に as
they does in Word. But if you do, they will not 生き残る a 一連の会議、交渉/完成する trip
転換.
Same thing can be
said about 索引s and other 前進するd office automation features.
Making templates
that are interoperable doesn't mean they look like the Word
templates. It means that they can work across the two 使用/適用s.
Images and 反対するs
Images like the
company logo and 反対するs like a text box with the company 接触する
(警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) and (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) about the sender of a letter are central
to any templates. These things are on the other 手渡す rather difficult
to make in a way, that are 許容できる after 転換 to lets say
Microsoft Word. The 重要な problem is not the positioning (the exact
place on the paper) but to what they are positioned. Its the 錨,総合司会者
that 事柄s. The 推論する/理由 for this problem is that Word and Writer has
two different ways of thinking when it comes to this 錨,総合司会者ing
problem. The main 支配する is to use the same 錨,総合司会者ing for 反対するs that
are placed together. If the text box with the 演説(する)/住所 (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) is
錨,総合司会者d "to page" then the logo just above should not be
錨,総合司会者d "to paragraph". Use the same 錨,総合司会者 method for all
反対するs that are grouped together and you will make things much
easier to develop, 持続する and use.
In general you
should ask you self if the 反対する is to be positioned on a 明確な/細部
position on the page or at a position 親族 to something. A
company logo on a letter template or a text box with the senders
演説(する)/住所 is to be positioned at a 明確な/細部 position on the page and
therefor 錨,総合司会者d "to page". In 事例/患者 the 反対する are
supposed to be repeated on several pages it should be 錨,総合司会者d “to
paragraph” in the page header or footer but with 測定
親族 to the page.
大型のs
Try to 避ける using
大型のs. Many templates developed for MS Office 2003 has embedded or
言及/関連d 大型のs to 得る some 前進するd functionality. Using 大型のs
暗示するs a 危険 that the 文書 in special 状況/情勢s doesn't 反応する
as 推定する/予想するd 簡単に because the 大型の is not 利用できる or 大型の
死刑執行 is 無能にするd for 安全 推論する/理由s. Using 大型のs should not
be necessary with modern office 使用/適用s.
In 事例/患者 you have
systems of 大型のs running and 存在 扶養家族 on other 大型のs 存在
利用できる, you should consider how to 得る the same functionality
without using an office 控訴 at all. Such systems of several 大型のs
are not suitable for 商売/仕事 環境s and should in most 事例/患者s
be developed as part of a 文書 管理/経営 system or 類似の.
Putting 商売/仕事 logic into a コンビナート/複合体 system of templates and 大型のs
is risky.
道具s
生成する content
When you design
templates its important that you 実験(する) the template with some content.
For that 目的 I have developed an 拡張 to LibreOffice Writer
that can 生成する large 量s of Lorem ipsum text. You can 選ぶ the
拡張 for 解放する/自由な here:
As an 代案/選択肢
you can use the built in 模造の text (writer dt and 攻撃する,衝突する F3).
Word
Use word to see how
the 初めの templates 作品, looks and 反応するs.
輸出(する) the resulting
文書 to PDF for comparison.
LibreOffice
Use LibreOffice to
develop new templates. But before you begin; learn to use it. You
will discover that the first three or four 試みる/企てるs to make a good
template fails. But during the work you will learn from experience
and your 失敗s.
I recommend that you
use the same operating system while developing the templates as the
正規の/正選手 使用者s of the templates will be using. LibreOffice is 独立した・無所属 from 壇・綱領・公約 but there are some minor differences from
OS to OS. The safest approach is to use the same OS.
Compare result
Compare the result

With this nifty
道具 you can 合併する two PDF とじ込み/提出するs as overlay and compare pixel 正確な
position of e.g., the logo and 利ざやs. Get it here: https://github.com/vslavik/diff-pdf

You need to (一定の)期間 check ideally have a native English (衆議院の)議長 proof read too, but at least (一定の)期間 check so that obvious errors like "Cross platfor" are 避けるd.
I do 高く評価する/(相場などが)上がる that you have taken the time to 令状 this helpful (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) about Libreoffice and templates but the mistakes are very distracting.
