The readers of this 小冊子 are no 疑問 aware that the 苦悩 entertained for the 運命／宿命 of Burke and Wills led to the 形式 of several 探検隊／遠征隊s in their search. The first of these was formed in Melbourne and ゆだねるd to the 命令（する） of Mr. Howitt. The second in Adelaide, under Mr. McKinlay. The third from Rockhampton, under Mr. Walker; and the fourth from Brisbane, under Mr. Landsborough. These several 探検隊／遠征隊s were organised and started within a short period of each other. The steamship Victoria, 指揮官 Norman, was despatched by the Victorian 政府 to the 湾 of Carpentaria to 補助装置 the explorers in carrying out their 反対するs.

Mr. Howitt, as is 井戸／弁護士席-known, 早期に 後継するd in ascertaining the melancholy 運命／宿命 of Burke and Wills: but before his letter 発表するing it reached Melbourne the other 探検隊／遠征隊s referred to had 始める，決める out.

The brig Firefly was 借り切る／憲章d in Melbourne to take from Brisbane to Carpentaria Mr. Landsborough's party and 器具／備品s, and also some 蓄える／店s for Mr. Walker's party, the latter having been 教えるd to proceed from Rockhampton 陸路の, by the shortest 大勝する, to a rendezvous at the 湾. The Firefly, having reached Moreton Bay and shipped the horses, 始める，決める sail for Carpentaria on the 24th August with Mr. Landsborough and his party.

As it is the 反対する of this 小冊子 to give 詳細（に述べる）s, 特に of his 探検隊／遠征隊, the 定期刊行物, letters, etc., which follow, are now 現在のd.
