A few weeks ago I had one of my 正規の／正選手 six-月毎の CT ざっと目を通すs. It showed that the metastases in my 肺s have grown a bit each, although not a 広大な／多数の／重要な 取引，協定 (2.2 up to maybe 2.8cm across). However, it also showed up a 3-4cm lump in my left 腎臓 which needed その上の 分析. I had an 任命 this week about that. 基本的に, there are three 選択s:
- Metastasis (spread) of my 存在するing 癌
- Benign lump
- New 腎臓 癌
3) is 明らかに very ありそうもない, both because of how it looks on the ざっと目を通す and because of how 比較して slowly it’s growing. So they want to do a 生体検査 to distinguish between 1) (主要な to an 操作／手術) and 2) (which would 要求する no 操作／手術).
If 外科 is 要求するd, they hope to do a 部分的な／不平等な (rather than 十分な) nephrectomy (腎臓 除去), and it’ll probably be in September or October, after my wedding and honeymoon :-). The fact that a 部分的な／不平等な nephrectomy is possible is very encouraging, because it means if it turned up in the other one in a few years in the same way, I’d have two half-腎臓s, rather than no 腎臓s! But I continue to be amazed by the carefully-designed redundancy in the human 団体／死体.
