"War is the 延長／続編 of politics." In this sense war is politics and war itself is a political 活動／戦闘; since 古代の times there has never been a war that did not have a political character....

But war has its own particular 特徴 and in this sense it cannot be equated with politics in general. "War is the 延長／続編 of politics by other . . . means." When politics develops to a 確かな 行う／開催する／段階 beyond which it cannot proceed by the usual means, war breaks out to sweep the 障害s from the way.... When the 障害 is 除去するd and our political 目的（とする） 達成するd the war will stop. But if the 障害 is not 完全に swept away, the war will have to continue till the 目的（とする） is fully 遂行するd.... It can therefore be said that politics is war without 流血／虐殺 while war is politics with 流血／虐殺.

History shows that wars are divided into two 肉親，親類d, just and 不正な. All wars that are 進歩／革新的な are just, and all wars that 妨げる 進歩 are 不正な. We 共産主義者s …に反対する all 不正な wars that 妨げる 進歩, but we do not …に反対する 進歩／革新的な, just wars. Not only do we 共産主義者s not …に反対する just wars, we 活発に 参加する in them. As for 不正な wars, World War I is an instance in which both 味方するs fought for 帝国主義の 利益／興味s; therefore the 共産主義者s of the whole world hrmly …に反対するd that war. The way to …に反対する a war of this 肉親，親類d is to do everything possible to 妨げる it before it breaks out and, once it breaks out, to …に反対する war with war, to …に反対する 不正な war with just war, whenever possible.

革命s and 革命の wars are 必然的な in class society, and without them it is impossible to 遂行する any leap in social 開発 and to 倒す the reactionary 判決，裁定 classes and therefore impossible for the people to 勝利，勝つ political 力／強力にする.

革命の war is an antitoxin which not only 除去するs the enemy's 毒（薬） but also 粛清するs us of our own filth. Every just, 革命の war is endowed with tremendous 力／強力にする and can transform many things or （疑いを）晴らす the way for their 変形. The Sino-Japanese war will transform both 中国 and Japan; 供給するd 中国 perseveres in the War of 抵抗 and in the 部隊d 前線, the old Japan will surely be transformed into a new Japan and the old 中国 into a new 中国, and people and everything else in both 中国 and Japan will be transformed during and after the war.

Every 共産主義者 must しっかり掴む the truth, "Political 力／強力にする grows out of the バーレル／樽 of a gun."

The seizure of 力／強力にする by 武装した 軍隊, the 解決／入植地 of the 問題／発行する by war, is the central 仕事 and the highest form of 革命. This Marxist-Leninist 原則 of 革命 持つ／拘留するs good universally, for 中国 and for all other countries.

Without 武装した struggle neither the proletariat, nor the people, nor the 共産主義者 Party would have any standing at all in 中国 and it would be impossible for the 革命 to 勝利. In these years [the eighteen years since the 設立するing of the Party] the 開発, consolidation and bolshevization of our Party have proceeded in the 中央 of 革命の wars; without 武装した struggle the 共産主義者 Party would assuredly not be what it is today. Comrades throughout the Party must never forget this experience for which we have paid in 血.

によれば the Marxist theory of the 明言する／公表する, the army is the 長，指導者 構成要素 of 明言する／公表する 力／強力にする. Whoever wants to 掴む and 保持する 明言する／公表する 力／強力にする must have a strong army. Some people ridicule us as 支持するs of the "omnipotence of war". Yes, we are 支持するs of the omnipotence of 革命の war; that is good, not bad, it is Marxist. The guns of the ロシアの 共産主義者 Party created 社会主義. We shall create a democratic 共和国. Experience in the class struggle in the 時代 of 帝国主義 teaches us that it is only by the 力／強力にする of the gun that the working class and the 労働ing 集まりs can 敗北・負かす the 武装した bourgeoisie and landlords; in this sense we may say that only with guns can the whole world be transformed.

We are 支持するs of the 廃止 of war, we do not want war; but war can only be 廃止するd through war, and ーするために get rid of the gun it is necessary to （問題を）取り上げる the gun.

War, this monster of 相互の 虐殺（する） の中で men, will be finally 除去するd by the 進歩 of human society, and in the not too distant 未来 too. But there is only one way to 除去する it and that is to …に反対する war with war, to …に反対する counterrevolutionary war with 革命の war, to …に反対する 国家の 反対する-革命の war with 国家の 革命の war, and to …に反対する 反対する-革命の class war with 革命の class war.... When human society 前進するs to the point where classes and 明言する／公表するs are 除去するd, there will be no more wars, 反対する-革命の or 革命の, 不正な or just; that will be the 時代 of perpetual peace for mankind. Our 熟考する／考慮する of the 法律s of 革命の war springs from the 願望（する） to 除去する all wars; herein lies the distinction between us 共産主義者s and all the 偉業／利用するing classes.

Our country and all the other 社会主義者 countries want peace; so do the peoples of all the countries of the world. The only ones who crave war and do not want peace are 確かな monopoly 資本主義者 groups in a handful of 帝国主義の countries which depend on 侵略 for their 利益（をあげる）s.

"開始 演説（する）／住所 at the Eighth 国家の 議会 of the 共産主義者 Party of 中国" (September 15, 1956).

To 達成する a 継続している world peace, we must その上の develop our friendship and co-操作／手術 with the fraternal countries in the 社会主義者 （軍の）野営地，陣営 and 強化する our 団結 with all peace-loving countries. We must endeavour to 設立する normal 外交関係, on the basis of 相互の 尊敬（する）・点 for 領土の 正直さ and 主権，独立 and of equality and 相互の beneht, with all countries willing to live together with us in peace. We must give active support to the 国家の independence and 解放 move,ment in countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America 同様に as to the peace movement and to just struggles in all the countries of the world.

As for the 帝国主義の countries, we should 部隊 with their peoples and 努力する／競う to coexist 平和的に with those countries, do 商売／仕事 with them and 妨げる any possible war, but under no circumstances should we harbour any unrealistic notions about them.

On the 訂正する 扱うing of Contradictions の中で the People  (February 27, 1957), 1st pocket ed., p. 75.

We 願望（する） peace. However, if 帝国主義 主張するs on hghting a war, we will have no 代案／選択肢 but to take the hrm 決意／決議 to hght to the hnish before going ahead with our construction. If you are afraid of war day in day out, what will you do if war 結局 comes? First I said that the East 勝利，勝つd is 勝つ／広く一帯に広がるing over the West 勝利，勝つd and war will not 勃発する, and now I have 追加するd these explanations about the 状況／情勢 in 事例／患者 war should 勃発する. Both 可能性s have thus been taken into account.

Speech at the Moscow 会合 of 共産主義者 and 労働者s' Parties (November 18, 1957), 引用するd in "声明 by the 広報担当者 of the Chinese 政府" (September 1, 1963).*

People all over the world are now discussing whether or not a third world war will 勃発する. On this question, too, we must be mentally 用意が出来ている and do some 分析. We stand 堅固に for peace and against war. But if the 帝国主義のs 主張する on 抑えるのをやめるing another war, we should not be afraid of it. Our 態度 on this question is the same as our 態度 に向かって any 騒動: first, we are against it; second, we are not afraid of it. The First World War was followed by the birth of the Soviet Union with a 全住民 of 200 million. The Second World War was followed by the 出現 of the 社会主義者 （軍の）野営地，陣営 with a 連合させるd 全住民 of 900 million. If the 帝国主義のs 主張する on 開始する，打ち上げるing a third world war, it is 確かな that several hundred million more will turn to 社会主義, and then there will not be much room left on earth for the 帝国主義のs; it is also likely that the whole structure of 帝国主義 will utterly 崩壊（する）.

On the 訂正する 扱うing of Contradictions の中で the People  (February 27, 1957), 1st pocket ed., pp. 67-68.

Make trouble, fail, make trouble again, fail again . . . till their doom- that is the logic of the 帝国主義のs and all reactionaries the world over in 取引，協定ing with the people's 原因（となる）, and they will never go against this logic. This is a Marxist 法律. When we say "帝国主義 is ferocious", we mean that its nature will never change, that the 帝国主義のs will never lay 負かす／撃墜する their butcher knives, that they will never become Buddhas, till their doom.

Fight, fail, fight again, fail again, fight again . . . till their victory; that is the logic of the people, and they too will never go against this logic. This is another Marxist 法律. The ロシアの people's 革命 followed this 法律, and so has the Chinese people's 革命.

"Cast Away Illusions, 準備する for Struggle" (August 14, 1949), Selected 作品,  Vol. IV, p. 428.

Just because we have won victory, we must never relax our vigilance against the frenzied 陰謀（を企てる）s for 復讐 by the 帝国主義のs and their running dogs. Whoever relaxes vigilance will 武装解除する himself 政治上 and land himself in a passive position.

"演説（する）／住所 to the 準備の 委員会 of the New Political 諮問の 会議／協議会" (June 15, 1949), Selected 作品,  Vol. IV, p. 407.

The 帝国主義のs and their running dogs, the Chinese reactionaries, will not 辞職する themselves to 敗北・負かす in this land of 中国. They will continue to ギャング（団） up against the Chinese people in every possible way. For example, they will 密輸する their スパイ／執行官s into 中国 to （種を）蒔く dissension and make trouble. That is 確かな ; they will never neglect these activities. To take another example, the 帝国主義のs will 刺激する the Chinese reactionaries, and even throw in their own 軍隊s, to 封鎖 中国's ports. They will do this as long as it is possible. その上に, if they still hanker after adventures, they will send some of their 軍隊／機動隊s to 侵略する and 悩ます 中国's frontiers; this, too, is not impossible. All this we must take fully into account.

The world is 進歩ing, the 未来 is 有望な and no one can change this general 傾向 of history. We should carry on constant 宣伝 の中で the people on the facts of world 進歩 and the 有望な 未来 ahead so that they will build their 信用／信任 in victory.

The 指揮官s and 闘士，戦闘機s of the entire Chinese People's 解放 Army 絶対 must not relax in the least their will to fight; any thinking that relaxes the will to fight and belittles the enemy is wrong.
