26. DISCIPLINE

Within the 階級s of the people, 僕主主義 is correlative with centralism and freedom with discipline. They are the two opposites of a 選び出す/独身 (独立の)存在, contradictory 同様に as 部隊d, and we should not one-sidedly 強調する one to the 否定 of the other. Within the 階級s of the people, we cannot do without freedom, nor can we do without discipline; we cannot do without 僕主主義, nor can we do without centralism. This まとまり of 僕主主義 and centralism, of freedom and discipline, 構成するs our democratic centralism. Under this system, the people enjoy 広範囲にわたる 僕主主義 and freedom, but at the same time they have to keep within the bounds of 社会主義者 discipline.

On the 訂正する 扱うing of Contradictions の中で the People  (February 27, 1957), 1st pocket ed., pp. 10-11.

We must 断言する もう一度 the discipline of the Party, すなわち:

(1) the individual is subordinate to the organization;

(2) the 少数,小数派 is subordinate to the 大多数;

(3) the lower level is subordinate to the higher level; and

(4) the entire 会員の地位 is subordinate to the Central 委員会.

Whoever 侵害する/違反するs these articles of discipline 混乱に陥れる/中断させるs Party まとまり.

One 必要物/必要条件 of Party discipline is that the 少数,小数派 should 服従させる/提出する to the 大多数. If the 見解(をとる) of the 少数,小数派 has been 拒絶するd, it must support the 決定/判定勝ち(する) passed by the 大多数. If necessary, it can bring up the 事柄 for reconsideration at the next 会合, but apart from that it must not 行為/法令/行動する against the 決定/判定勝ち(する) in any way.

"On 訂正するing Mistaken Ideas in the Party" (December 1929), Selected 作品,  Vol. I, p. 110.

The Three Main 支配するs of Discipline are as follows:

(1) Obey orders in all your 活動/戦闘s.

(2) Do not take a 選び出す/独身 needle

piece of thread from the 集まりs.

(3) Turn in everything 逮捕(する)d.

The Eight Points for Attention are as follows:

(1) Speak politely.

(2) 支払う/賃金 公正に/かなり for what you buy.

(3) Return everything you borrow.

(4) 支払う/賃金 for anything you 損失.

(5) Do not 攻撃する,衝突する or 断言する at people.

(6) Do not 損失 刈るs.

(7) Do not take liberties with women.

(8) Do not ill-扱う/治療する 捕虜s.

They [all officers and 兵士s of our army] must 高くする,増す their sense of discipline and resolutely carry out orders, carry out our 政策, carry out the Three Main 支配するs of Discipline and the Eight Points for Attention - with army and people 部隊d, army and 政府 部隊d, officers and 兵士s 部隊d, and the whole army 部隊d - and 許す no 違反 of discipline.
