We stand for self-依存. We hope for foreign 援助（する） but cannot be 扶養家族 on it; we depend on our own 成果／努力s, on the creative 力／強力にする of the whole army and the entire people.

"We Must Learn to Do 経済的な Work" (January 10, 1945), Selected 作品,  Vol. III, p. 241.

To 勝利，勝つ country-wide victory is only the first step in a long march of ten thousand li.... The Chinese 革命 is 広大な／多数の／重要な, but the road after the 革命 will be longer, the work greater and more arduous. This must be made （疑いを）晴らす now in the Party. The comrades must be helped to remain modest, 慎重な and 解放する／自由な from arrogance and rashness in their style of work. The comrades must be helped to 保存する the style of plain living and hard struggle.

We must 完全に （疑いを）晴らす away all ideas の中で our cadres of winning 平易な victories through good luck, without hard and bitter struggle, without sweat and 血.

We should carry on constant 宣伝 の中で the people on the facts of world 進歩 and the 有望な 未来 ahead so that they will build their 信用／信任 in victory. At the same time, we must tell the people and tell our comrades that there will be 新たな展開s and turns in our road, There are still many 障害s and difficulties along the road of 革命. The Seventh 議会 of our Party assumed that the difficulties would be many, for we preferred to assume there would be more difficulties rather than いっそう少なく. Some comrades do not like to think much about difficulties. But difficulties are facts; we must 認める as many difficulties as there are and should not 可決する・採択する a "政策 of 非，不，無-承認". We must 認める difficulties, analyse them and 戦闘 them. There are no straight roads in the world; we must be 用意が出来ている to follow a road which 新たな展開s and turns and not try to get things on the cheap. It must not be imagined that one 罰金 morning all the reactionaries will go 負かす／撃墜する on their 膝s of their own （許可，名誉などを）与える. In a word, while the prospects are 有望な, the road has 新たな展開s and turns. There are still many difficulties ahead which we must not overlook. By 部隊ing with the entire people in a ありふれた 成果／努力, we can certainly 打ち勝つ all difficulties and 勝利，勝つ victory.

Anyone who sees only the 有望な 味方する but not the difficulties cannot fight 効果的に for the 業績／成就 of the Party's 仕事s.

The wealth of society is created by the 労働者s, 小作農民s and working 知識人s. If they take their 運命 into their own 手渡すs, follow a Marxist-Leninist line and take an active 態度 in solving problems instead of 避けるing them, there will be no difficulty in the world which they cannot 打ち勝つ.

Introductory 公式文書，認める to "The Party 長官 Takes the Lead and All the Party Members Help Run the Co-operatives" (1955), The 社会主義者 沸き立つ in 中国's Countryside,  Chinese ed., Vol. I.

The comrades throughout the Party must take all this fully into account and be 用意が出来ている to 打ち勝つ all difficulties with an indomitable will and in a planned way. The reactionary 軍隊s and we both have difficulties. But the difficulties of the reactionary 軍隊s are insurmountable because they are 軍隊s on the 瀬戸際 of death and have no 未来. Our difficulties can be 打ち勝つ because we are new and rising 軍隊s and have a 有望な 未来.

In times of difficulty we must not lose sight of our 業績／成就s, must see the 有望な 未来 and must pluck up our courage.

New things always have to experience difficulties and 後退s as they grow. It is sheer fantasy to imagine that the 原因（となる） of 社会主義 is all plain sailing and 平易な success, without difficulties and 後退s or the exertion of tremendous 成果／努力s.

On the 訂正する 扱うing of Contradictions の中で the People  (February 27, 1957), 1st pocket ed., pp. 32-33.

At 確かな times in the 革命の struggle, the difficulties outweigh the favourable 条件s and so 構成する the 主要な／長／主犯 面 of the contradiction and the favourable 条件s 構成する the 第２位 面. But through their 成果／努力s the 革命のs can 打ち勝つ the difficulties step by step and open up a favourable new 状況／情勢, thus a difficult 状況／情勢 産する／生じるs place to a favourable one.

What is work? Work is struggle. There are difficulties and problems in those places for us to 打ち勝つ and solve. We go there to work and struggle to 打ち勝つ these difficulties. A good comrade is one who is more eager to go where the difficulties are greater.

"On the Chungking 交渉s" (October 17, 1945), Selected 作品,  Vol. IV, p. 58.

There is an 古代の Chinese fable called "The Foolish Old Man Who 除去するd the Mountains". It tells of an old man who lived in northern 中国 long, long ago and was known as the Foolish Old Man of North Mountain. His house 直面するd south and beyond his doorway stood the two 広大な／多数の／重要な 頂点（に達する）s, Taihang and Wangwu, 妨害するing the way. With 広大な／多数の／重要な 決意, he led his sons in digging up these mountains 売春婦 in 手渡す. Another greybeard, known as the Wise Old Man, saw them and said derisively, "How silly of you to do this! It is やめる impossible for you few to dig up these two 抱擁する mountains." The Foolish Old Man replied, "When I die, my sons will carry on; when they die, there will be my grandsons, and t'nen their sons and grandsons, and so on to infinity. High as they are, the mountains cannot grow any higher and with every bit we dig, they will be that much lower. Why can't we （疑いを）晴らす them away?" Having 反駁するd the Wise Old Man's wrong 見解（をとる）, he went on digging every day, unshaken in his 有罪の判決. God was moved by this, and he sent 負かす／撃墜する two angels, who carried the mountains away on their 支援するs. Today, two big mountains 嘘（をつく） like a dead 負わせる on the Chinese people. One is 帝国主義, the other is feudalism. The Chinese 共産主義者 Party has long made up its mind to dig them up. We must persevere and work unceasingly, and we, too, will touch God's heart. Our God is 非，不，無 other than the 集まりs of the Chinese people. If they stand up and dig together with us, why can't these two mountains be （疑いを）晴らすd away?
