Amalgam and kindred 毒(薬)s

By H. Sheffield (1896)

About this text.

Health is a 支配する in which every individual is 利益/興味d. How to 安全な・保証する it, how to 保護する it from impairment by poisonous 実体s and other detrimental スパイ/執行官s, gives man the most anxious thoughts of life, and the philanthropist his most benevolent 熟考する/考慮する. Filling carious teeth with amalgam is destructive to health; it, with other poisonous 実体s, will be the 主題 of this article.

The poisonous 影響s of amalgam are not 一般に 認めるd; is not cared for 適切に, therefore, its injurious 影響s should be as 広範囲にわたって known as its use. One of the 成分s of amalgam is quicksilver, which will 速く oxidize when exposed to the 空気/公表する. Those men who 地雷 it and 吸い込む its vapors are salivated; they を煩う cerebral 病気s, they are palsied, they 沈む into marasmus, and die 未熟に. 工場/植物s that are exposed to the vapor of quicksilver in a の近くに room will 死なせる/死ぬ in a few days.

”Those persons who have ... amalgam fillings in their teeth, frequently を煩う 水銀の rheumatism and other symptoms of that 毒(薬); in fact, some are walking 晴雨計s, and by their 苦痛 can foretell a change of 天候.”

It is but a few years since a merchant ship left San Francisco, and in her 貨物 was a large 量 of quicksilver. It was not securely 限定するd; it escaped and ran into the 持つ/拘留する of the ship. There it (機の)カム in 接触する with bilge water, by which it was soon oxidized, and its vapor permeated the 船体 of the ship. The 乗組員 of the ship were salivated, the canary bird caged in the cabin, the pigs and the fowls, each in their own 4半期/4分の1s, and the ネズミs in the 持つ/拘留する died from 吸い込むing the poisonous vapor.

When quicksilver is 解散させるd in nitric 酸性の the 製品 is nitrate of 水銀柱,温度計. Let me enumerate some of the poisonous 影響s of 水銀柱,温度計 on the human family. A metallic taste in the mouth, 頭痛, soreness and sponginess of the gums, 苦痛 in the sockets of the teeth when 圧力(をかける)d together, fetid breath, ptyalism, ulceration of the mucous membrance of the mouth, fauces, larynx, and bronchia, loss of 発言する/表明する, hectic fever, profuse perspiration, emaciation, and death. Quicksilver will 解散させる in strong 酸性の; it will oxidize in open 空気/公表する, in 接触する with fetid water, in the mouth when exposed to 酸性のs and vitiated secretions, and when swallowed with them is 吸収するd by the stomach, and its 影響s poisonous. The 量 of this 酸化物 taken into the stomach in one week or a month will be comparatively small, but when swallowed, as it is for years, will certainly produce the poisonous 影響s of 水銀柱,温度計, and in nearly the same order as heretofore enumerated. The 水銀の 影響 of this 酸化物 is not as 速く and extensively developed in persons of bilious phlegmatic temperaments as in persons of nervous sanguine temperaments, who are by 遺伝 predisposed to glandular and 気管支の 病気s.

"We know that 広大な/多数の/重要な grief, fright, 激しい 怒り/怒る, may so 毒(薬) the milk of the nursing mother as to carry death to the child. Prof. Elmer Gates, of the Smithsonian 会・原則, has not only 孤立するd the 毒(薬) and shown it in 水晶s, but has 論証するd that bad and unpleasant feelings create harmful 化学製品s in the 団体/死体 which are 肉体的に injurious, while good, pleasant, and benevolent feelings create 有益な 化学製品s, and these 製品s may be (悪事,秘密などを)発見するd by 化学分析 in the perspiration and urine". Now, if mental emotions can create poisonous 化学製品s, it is 絶対 確かな that 化学製品 実体s introduced into the 血 will destroy its 潔白 and create 病気 in some part or 組織/臓器 of the 団体/死体 for which that 実体 has an elective affinity.

A 広大な/多数の/重要な many persons 所有する an idiosyncrasy peculiar to themselves. One person will faint from one odor, another from a different one. One has fainted from the odor of 巡査, while hundreds of others have worn it in 接触する with the 団体/死体, and it has relieved them of cramp or rheumatism or neuralgia. Those persons who have been salivated are 特に 極度の慎重さを要する to 水銀柱,温度計; in them I have frequently seen ulcers of the mouth and fauces produced by a few doses of 水銀柱,温度計, each dose 含む/封じ込めるing いっそう少なく than the one-thousandth part of a 穀物. Those persons who have been salivated and have amalgam fillings in their teeth, frequently を煩う 水銀の rheumatism and other symptoms of that 毒(薬); in fact, some are walking 晴雨計s, and by their 苦痛 can foretell a change of 天候. When the 肝臓 has been 蓄える/店d with 原子s of 水銀柱,温度計, it can be 刺激するd to 増加するd secretion by 酸性のs, hence their たびたび(訪れる) use.

The proverb, "The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are 始める,決める on 辛勝する/優位", is an eternal fact which appears to be little known and いっそう少なく 観察するd in this country. The 影響s of 水銀柱,温度計 and other poisonous 実体s is not 限定するd to parents who use them, but are transmitted to their children, "even to the third and fourth 世代s". It is not, therefore, what comes out of the parents' mouths that defiles them and produces 病気s in their children, but that which they put into them. The use of アル中患者 drinks, 麻薬s, タバコ, morphia, with many other 毒(薬)s, is destroying the physical stamina and mental equilibrium of native Americans and making them selfish and evil. The 解放する/自由な use of deleterious 実体s will degrade the natural 団体/死体 and make it an unfit 寺 for the soul.

If you would learn the 影響s of poisonous 実体s, 診察する carefully the children of native Americans who have used such enormous 量s of them. You will find them with 大きくするd tonsils, glandular swellings, 肌 病気s, catarrhal affections of the 注目する,もくろむs, ears, nose, and throat, 支配する to croup, teeth and bones imperfectly developed; they easily succumb to inflammatory 条件s, and marasmus ends their 早期に career. Our 亡命s for the vicious, the insane, the 孤児, the blind, the mute, the deaf are (人が)群がるd with them. These facts show the 早い 拒絶する/低下する of native Americans (肉体的に, mentally, and morally) during the past century, and if the same course is 追求するd of 絶えず swallowing 毒(薬)s, it will not 要求する a prophet to foretell their ultimate 絶滅. "重さを計るd in the balance, and 設立する wanting", is the 令状ing on the 塀で囲む; and unless philanthropists and 改革者s waken native Americans to their danger, they will not escape their doom.

”For forty years 患者s have come to me with teeth filled with amalgam, each one 苦しむing with some of the symptoms enumerated in 毒(薬)ing by 水銀柱,温度計.”

For forty years 患者s have come to me with teeth filled with amalgam, each one 苦しむing with some of the symptoms enumerated in 毒(薬)ing by 水銀柱,温度計. After the amalgam had been 除去するd, and their teeth refilled with gold, they soon began to 改善する, and 最終的に 回復するd, except those who had ulceration of epiglottis, larynx, trachea, and bronchia, acompanied with hectic. The facts 現在のd with my own 声明 is 肯定的な 証拠, and it cannot be 少なくなるd or destroyed by any 量 of 消極的な 証拠 or ridicule.

To my 患者s I 明言する/公表する plainly the 影響 of amalgam fillings and its 悲惨な consequences. They then 協議する their favorite dentist, who 宣言するs their teeth to be in good 条件, and he is 熟知させるd with persons who have worn amalgam fillings for many years without any 傷害, and he knows it can do them no 害(を与える). To this 声明 I will reply that he cannot know (only believes) that any one person can resist the poisonous 影響s of any 実体 or 成し遂げる any 行為/法令/行動する どれでも because another person has done so 首尾よく. For example: Dr. Winslow, of Boston, could 解除する a dozen men at the same time, therefore my 患者 can do the same thing. Prof. Sandow can do the somersault with fifty 続けざまに猛撃するs in each 手渡す, therefore my 患者 can do the same thing. Such deductions are 誤った, 誤って導くing, and harmful. Every individual is する権利を与えるd to his own opinion and belief, in the 弁護 of which he will often 危険 his own life. That does not 証明する his belief to be either true or 誤った; it only shows his own firmness and fortitude. If it is 設立するd on falsehood or superstition, it is worthless to others who know the facts.

Now it is utterly impossible to have a (疑いを)晴らす brain, with virtuous, benevolent, and honest inpulses, surmounting a 病気d and depraved 団体/死体. We therefore sadly need schoolhouses where able preceptors can teach men, women, and children "the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth" about physiology, toxicology, hygiene, and every other 支配する that has any 耐えるing on health; how to 保護する and perpetuate it, and how to 送信する/伝染させる it to their children.

Health is a 全世界の/万国共通の need, as that only can 修正する avarice, lust, and 罪,犯罪, and 最終的に 打ち勝つ them. When native Americans all become sound in 団体/死体 and brain, then, and then only, can they closely follow the examples of the Christ; then, and then only, will they practice 宗教 in its 潔白; then, and then only, will 司法(官), harmony, peace, and 繁栄 勝つ/広く一帯に広がる の中で them.
