I've written a number of tutorials about connecting things to the internet... and there is some duplication, overlap, etc. Sorry. In the page below, I am going to try to pull together what you need to know about one 必要物/必要条件 of one way of 供給するing services to the online world.
I would commend the Ionos guide to "Where can I get a 解放する/自由な DDNS service?" if you just want an answer to that. Ionos- 以前は known as 1and1... have 供給するd me, very 井戸/弁護士席, with web hosting for years. They know what they are talking about. And have professionals keeping that page up to date.
A bit of good news: If you are just getting started with publishing things on the internet, the 残り/休憩(する) of this page is probably not important to you. It is important to people who are setting up a server connected to the same 関係 to the internet as they use for browsing, email, etc. ("A server" may be what is often called a server, or it may be something like an IPCam... 現実に a server, but not always though of as a server.)
If you are just building a blog, or publishing some web pages which have to be uploaded to a server which is on a different internet 関係 that your own, then your life is still simple... you don't need dynamic DNS services. <^_^>
If whatever service you are considering building would die if something on your LAN was unplugged, then this page is for you!
If you already understand what a dynamic DNS service is, and want to know my experiences (I've only used one DDNS service provider.. but used them for years), you can skip 負かす/撃墜する to that section of this essay.
It may seem for a few paragraphs that I am rambling. But if you show a little 決意, you will 結局 reach the part where what I've been 説 begins to be pulled together. You can't really understand the answer to "how do I connect?" without knowing a bit about さまざまな pieces of the puzzle.
You need to have your system "findable" to all the other 装置s on the internet.
To find the server which has what you are reading on it, and to get to this particular 文書, you put "http://arduserver.com/DynamDns.htm" into your web browser. (Or Google's search engine or 類似の did that for you.)
Before the page could be sent to your computer, the internet's DNS (Directory 指名する Service) "translated" "http://arduserver.com" into a number, and "the system" used that number to go to the 権利 place for "Dynamdns1.htm", which is what you are reading.
Think for a moment about using telephones. If you want to call Mr Ranhoff, you look up his number in a phone 調書をとる/予約する. The internet, like the phone system, is build on numbers. However, the internet comes with what is 効果的に an "(a)自動的な/(n)自動拳銃 phone 調書をとる/予約する", which returns IP 演説(する)/住所s from more human friendly things, things like "http://arduserver.com/DynamDns.htm". "IP 演説(する)/住所": Internet 議定書 演説(する)/住所. 伝統的に four, but we are moving to six, numbers separated by periods, e.g. 152.43.203.68. 非,不,無 of the numbers will be greater than 255. The numbers are いつかs 表明するd in hex, in which 事例/患者 A,B,C,D,E and F are 付加 許容できる digits, and the 最大限 number is FF. いつかs written $FF.
Ah! You thought this would be 平易な? There are internet 演説(する)/住所s "out there on the WAN" (wide area 網状組織, "the internet"). In any 地元の area 網状組織, we also use "IP 演説(する)/住所s" to differentiate the different machines on the LAN.
While in the whole internet world, there is only one 装置 connected to 152.43.203.68, there are, 世界的な, probably literally millions of machines connected to 192.168.0.0. I'll explain in a moment.
I don't know what is connected to 152.43.203.68... I just 選ぶd a number out of a hat. And what's connected today might be 麻薬中毒の to the internet by a different number tomorrow.
192.168.0.0... and all the others beginning 192.168... (and some others) are 始める,決める aside for using on LANs. When your LAN connects to the outside world, it keeps the 地元の IP 演説(する)/住所s (192.168...) to itself. It is connected to the outside word by an 非,不,無- 192... number 割り当てるd to home 使用者s, and small 商売/仕事s... and some not so small 商売/仕事s... by things beyond our 支配(する)/統制する. And the number we are given changes from time to time, unless we have a "static IP 演説(する)/住所".... and if you do, you will know... from the 法案 you 支払う/賃金.
普通は, this dynamic IP 演説(する)/住所 doesn't 事柄. Even if there are two people in one home using web browsers. Perhaps Alice is going to YouTube and (頭が)ひょいと動く is going to eBay. When they send a request, it travels from their machines... we'll say that Alice is on LOCAL IP 演説(する)/住所 192.168.0.2 and (頭が)ひょいと動く is on 192.168.0.3. Both will go out to the WAN from the 世帯's (現在の) WAN 演説(する)/住所... let's say it is 152.43.203.15. YouTube and eBay will both answer to that 演説(する)/住所, but within all the "stuff" will be what the 世帯's router needs to send Alice's answer to 192.168.0.2 and (頭が)ひょいと動く's answer to 192.168.0.3
So far, so good. So far, the communications have started within the LAN which connects to the WAN 経由で 152.43.203.15.
What happens if there is a SERVER on the LAN, and you want someone in the outside world to be able to start the conversation? (Rather as Alice started her conversation with YouTube, but with 役割s 逆転するd.)
井戸/弁護士席, the someone in the outside world needs to know the 152.43.203.15... or whatever is 現在/一般に 割り当てるd for the WAN's link to the router connecting to the LAN with the server.
As I said... it is ありそうもない that you have a static IP 演説(する)/住所. You probably have a dynamic IP 演説(する)/住所, e.g. the hypothetical "152.43.203.15" changes from time to time. Probably not very often. But at all is a problem.
Like most 科学(工学)技術 challenges, almost as soon as someone 遭遇(する)d the problem, someone else (機の)カム up with an answer. It is a little コンビナート/複合体 to 述べる, but read through quickly once, and then go 支援する over it. It isn't too bad, really.
Take the server on my LAN which let's anyone out there in internet land see what the 天候 has been like at a house I 監視する between New York and Boston, in the USA. First I 調印するd up with a service... I'll come to that in a moment. As part of the 調印する up, I chose the 測候所's URL. For my 測候所, it is http://www.mon277rr.dyndns.org/. (I chose the "mon277rr" part. The 残り/休憩(する) I had to 受託する in return for using a 解放する/自由な service.)
Whenever anyone asks to go to my 天候 報告(する)/憶測ing server, they are 大勝するd through the computers at dyndns.org. They know the 権利 現在の IP 演説(する)/住所 for my server.
How do they know?
When I first turned everything on, I sent to dyndns.org the IP 演説(する)/住所 my 天候 server was on at the time. Since then, a 装置 on the same LAN checks and rechecks what IP 演説(する)/住所 the LAN's router is using to "talk" to the internet. As long as it doesn't change, nothing need be done. Whenever it does change, the 装置 on my LAN sends a message to dyndns.org, and they 改訂する their 記録,記録的な/記録するs, and anyone looking for my 天候 server is still sent to the 権利 place.
Clever!
I spoke of "a 装置 on the same LAN". This is いつかs an always-on PC running the dyndns updater 使用/適用. It is いつかs the router itself. Some of them have dyndns service updaters built into them. Some IpCams have dyndns service updaters built into them. A story for another time.
Remember what I said in the box at the 最高の,を越す of this: I would commend the Ionos guide to "Where can I get a 解放する/自由な DDNS service?" if you just want an answer to that. Ionos- 以前は known as 1and1... have 供給するd me, very 井戸/弁護士席, with web hosting for years. They know what they are talking about. And have professionals keeping that page up to date.
The one I've used for many years comes from Dyn.com. (They used to be called dyndns.com). やめる confusingly, there now (3/19) also seems to be a different 供給者 called "DynDns Service", operating from dyndnss.逮捕する. In spite of anything you might think about their choice of 指名する, at 3/19, they were on the Ionos recommended 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる), and what they 申し込む/申し出d looked good. The 指名する may 単に 反映する the aptness of it, not an 試みる/企てる to deceive.)
Until about Dec 2011, for the home 使用者, they 許すd 解放する/自由な use of their service, but you had to go along about every three months and say "Yes, I want to continue using your service."
Even before December 2011, I was already 支払う/賃金ing them $20 per year to use their service. It was 価値(がある) it to me. They were doing a good 職業, and for that 名目上の 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金, I didn't have to keep "新たにするing". That 料金 is now (3/19) $55 per year... thank you, Gentle Reader: It was only in updating this page that I learned how much the price had gone up!... Sigh. But they do give good service, and do I really want to make a change?
At 3/19, they still 申し込む/申し出 a 解放する/自由な 裁判,公判... now only 7 days. (It used to be 14.) You can make sure you can 打ち勝つ the 始める,決める-up 問題/発行するs, etc, before 支払う/賃金ing. The service you want, for the sort of things we've been discussing, is what they call their "DynDNS プロの/賛成の". Go to http://dyn.com/dns/dyndns-プロの/賛成の/ for the 詳細(に述べる)s.
There are 解放する/自由な services out there still. For $55, I think I might "go with" the 井戸/弁護士席 設立するd dyn.com, and 避ける all the hassles of changes to 条件, advertising パネル盤s, かもしれない unreliable service, etc, etc... but for a basic home 使用者 just haveing fun, I'd start with one of the ones Ionos recommend. Changing DDNS provider shouldn't be a big hassle, unless you have "published" your DDNS-managed URL 広範囲にわたって, and have lots of people to 通知する, if you make a change. (Change 解放する/自由な or low cost DDNS provider, and you will be looking at a new URL.)
I わびる for ending rather 突然の! Do let me know if there are 面s of the above which weren't 十分に (疑いを)晴らす, or if there are 関係のある things I could talk about for you.
A number of things I do with the internet make use of the dyndns service I get from Dyn.com... I hope that if you (機の)カム here from one of them, you will want to go 支援する to where you (機の)カム from. Usually just の近くにing this tab or page will show you that the other was 単に under it.
Page has been 実験(する)d for 同意/服従 with INDUSTRY (not MS-only) 基準s, using the 解放する/自由な, 公然と accessible validator at validator.w3.org. Mostly passes.
